GPSMapsareswitchedon.ForNuvi,DriveandZumounits,thiscanbefoundbyclickingonthe‘spanner’(Tools).ThenselectSettings>MapandVehicle>MyMapstogettothescreenwheremapselectionismade. StepsonthenewerGarminNuviandDriverange:(PleasenotethattheolderGarminNuvirangewillworkdifferentlytothenewerunits).

• SwitchonyourGPSandselectSettingsonthehomepage.

• ThenselectMap&Vehicleonthenextpage.

• Onthenextpage,scrolldownandselectmyMaps.AllyourinstalledGPSMapswillbelistedhere.

EnablethemapyouwishtouseonyourGPSbyselectingthetickboxRememberthatyoumayonlyhaveonemapproductenabled(ticked)otherwisetheGPSwon'tknowwhichmaptouseandwillgivenavigationerrors.

Stepsonhowtoremovetheoldermapsfromyourinternalmemory/SDCardunit.

IfyouhaveanolderversiononyourinternalmemoryoftheGPSoranSDCardthen,youmustremoveitbeforetransferringthenewmapstoyourGPSunit.Exploretheinternalmemory/SDCardandlookeitherundertheGarminfolderormapfolderforthefileendingwithimg.Cutthisfileandplaceitonyourdesktopforsafety.Afterfollowingthestepsbelow,wherethenewmapsareplacesuccessfullyonyourGPS.Youmayremovetheimgfilefromyourdesktop. StepsonhowtouninstallmapsfromyourPC

• GotoStart(atthebottomleftsideofyourtaskbar).ClickonAllprograms. • LookforaTracks4Africa/T4AMapsProfolder. • Highlightit(Tracks4Africa/T4AMapsProFolder). • ThedropdownlistwillshowallT4Amapsthatcanbeuninstalled. • Uninstallallunwantedmap/sbyclickingonthemapoptiontouninstall.(Ie.ifallmaps

Option2:LoadfromyourcomputerForolderGPSunitswhichdonotacceptaPlug&PlaySDcard,youwillneedtoinstallT4AGPSMapsonyourcomputerandtransferthemapstoyourGPS,usingMapSource,BaseCamporMapInstall.TheseareallapplicationsprovidedbyGarmin.IfyouhaveaGPSwhichwasmanufacturedin2011orlaterthenyouareadvisedtousethelatestversionofMapInstalltotransfermapsfromyourMacorPCtoyourGPS.ExamplesofolderunitsthatdonotuseanSDcardare276c,76cand60c.Note:IfyouhaveanolderversionofTracks4Africainstalledonyourcomputer,itisgoodpracticetofirstuninstallthisfromyourcomputer.

STEP2:InstallT4AGPSMapstoyourPC1. OntheSDcardthereareinstallfilesforyourPC.InserttheSDcardinto

anSDcardreader.SomeGPSunits,digitalcamerasandmobilephonescanbeusedasSDCardreaderswhenconnectedtoyourPC.ThebestoptionwouldbetouseadedicatedSDcardreaderifyourPCdoesnotalreadyhaveone.

2. UseWindowsExplorertobrowsethecontentsoftheSDcard,lookinthefoldercalled“PCInstallFiles”.Youwillfindtheinstallationfileinthisfolder.

3. SelectT4AGPSMaps_TravellersAfrica_1705.exeandrunit.4. Followtheinstructionsontheinstallwizard;thenpressExit.NowT4A

GPSMapsareinstalledonyourPC.

STEP3:TransferT4AGPSMapsfromyourPCtoyourGPSusingMapSourceREMEMBER!IfyoualreadyhavemapsinstalledonyourGPS,theaboveoperationwilldeletethosemapsandinstalltheselectedones.

IfyoualreadyhaveBaseCamponyourPC,gotoHELP–CHECKFORSOFTWAREUPDATEStomakesureyouareusingthelatestversion.ThestepsbelowareapplicabletoBaseCampv3.3.3(orlater)andMapInstallv4.0.1(orlater):

Whensendingthemap/s,MapInstallshouldbeopenandyourGPSsystemswitchedonandpluggedin.

EachtimeamapsetissenttoaGarminGPSthepreviouslyloadedmapsareerasedfromtheGPS.

Ifyouhaveothermapsonyourinternalmemory,thensendTracks4AfricamapstoyourSDcardorviceversa.

STEP3:TransfermapsusingMapInstallTotransfermapstoyourdevice,openMapInstall.

TheGPSdevice+SDcardshouldbelistedinoneline.Ifyouwanttotransfermapstotheinternalmemoryofyourdevice,makesurethatnoSDcardisinsertedinthedevice.

IfyouwanttotransfermapstotheSDcardinyourdevice,simplyinserttheSDcardintotheGPS.

ForsomeolderunitstheSDcardandunitnamewillbelistedseparately.Inthatcase,makesureyouselectthedestinationwhereyouwanttosendthemaps.ClickonContinueandselectthemapsyouwanttosend:

Ifyouareusinganewerdevice,clickonCUSTOMIZEtoselectthemap(s)youwanttosendtoyourdevice.

Clickonthemapnameofthemapthatyouwanttosendtoyourdevice.Yourmapwillbehighlightedonthescreen.Clickoncontinue:

3. Transferthemap(s)toyourGarminGPSusingGarminMapInstall

EachtimeamapsetissenttoaGarminGPSthepreviouslyloadedmapsareoverriddenontheGPS.

YouhavetwochoicesofwheretoloadthemapsonyourGPS,oneistheinternalmemoryoftheGPSandthesecondisonanadditionalSDcardinsertedtotheGPS.IfyouhaveothermapsloadedonyourSDcard,thensendT4Amapstotheinternalmemoryofyourdeviceorviceversa.

PleasenotethattheSDcardhastobeinsertedintheGPSdeviceifyouwanttotransfermapstotheSDcard.

YourGPSdeviceshouldbeconnectedtotheMacandswitchedonwhentransferringmaps.

Step1:OpenMapInstallbyclickingonGoonyourtoolbarandselectingApplications>GarminMapInstall.

Step3:Clickonthenameofthemapthatyouwanttosendtoyourdevice.Theselectedmapwillbehighlightedonthescreen.

Step4:ClickonSendMapsonthebottomrighthandcornerofMapInstalltotransferthemapstoyourGPSdevice.

Step5:Thefollowingscreenwillappearbelow.ClickonConfirm.Pleasenotethatthetransfershouldnottakehoursasindicatedbelow,butinsteadacoupleofminutesonly.

Step6:Oncethetransferissuccessfulyouwillseethepagebelow.ClickonDoneoncetheinstallationiscomplete.

OntheGPS:SelectT4AGPSMapsonyourGPS1. UnplugandswitchonyourGPS.Gotothemenuwhereyouselectthe

mapsandmakesurethatT4AGPSMapsisselected.

Neveruseanytwomapproductsforthesameareaatthesametimeasitmayresultinconflicts.Simplyselectwhichoneyouneedandswitchtheotheroff.

ForNuviandZumounits,theabovecanbefoundbyclickingonthe‘spanner’(Tools).ThenselectSettings>Map>MapInfotogettothescreenwheremapselectionismade.
