Guidelines for photometric measurements

1. Vials,capsandstirringrodsshouldbecleanedthoroughlyaftereachanalysistoprevent interference.Evenminorreagentresiduescancauseerrorsinthetestresult.

2. Theoutsideofthevialmustbecleananddrybeforestartingtheanalysis.Cleantheoutsideofthe vialswithalint-freecloth(L197635)toremovefingerprintsorothermarks.

3. Zerocalibrationandtestmustbecarriedoutwiththesamevialastheremaybeslightdifferences inopticalperformancebetweenvials.

4. Thevialsmustbepositionedinthesamplechamberforzeroingandtestwiththe markonthe vial aligned with the markontheinstrument.

5. Alwaysperformzeroingandtestwiththevialcaptightlyclosed.Onlyusethecapwithalight- shielding ring.

6. Bubblesontheinsidewallofthevialleadtoincorrectmeasurements.Topreventthis,remove thebubblesbygentlyswirlingthevialbeforeperformingthetest.

7. Avoidspillageofwaterintothesamplechamberbecausethiscanleadtoincorrecttestresults.

8. Contaminationofthetransparentcellchambercanresultinincorrectreadings.Checkatregular intervalsand–ifnecessary–cleanthetransparentcellchamberusingamoistclothorcotton swab.

9. Largetemperaturedifferencesbetweentheinstrumentandtheenvironmentcanleadtoerrors e.g.duetotheformationofcondensationinthecellchamberoronthevial.

10.Toavoiderrorscausedbystraylightdonotusetheinstrumentinbrightsunlight.

11. Thereagentsmustbeaddedinthecorrectsequence.

• Priortomeasurementensurethatthesampleissuitableforanalysis(nomajorinterferences)anddoesnotrequireanypreparationi.e.pHadjustment,filtrationetc.

• Reagentsaredesignedforuseinchemicalanalysisonlyandshouldbekeptwelloutofthereachofchildren.

• Ensureproperdisposalofreagentsolutions.

• MaterialSafetyDataSheetsareavailableonrequest.

Scroll Memory (SM)Toavoidunnecessaryscrollingfortherequiredtestmethod,theinstrumentmemo-rizesthelastmethodusedbeforebeingturnedoff.Whentheinstrumentisturnedonagain,thescrolllistcomesupwiththelastusedtestmethodfirst.Thedisplayshowsthefollowing:

Fillacleanvialwiththewatersampleuptothe10mlmark,screwthecaponandplacethevialinthesamplechambermakingsurethatthe marksarealigned.

2. Antesdecomenzarconladeterminacióndeberándeestarlascubetas,asícomolas carasexterioresdeéstastotalmentelimpiasysecas.Huellasdactilaresogotasdeagua enlasuperficieópticadelascubetaspuedenproducirresultadoserróneos.

3. Elajustedeceroyelanálisisdebenserrealizadosconlamismacubeta,yaquelascubetasmu estranpocatoleranciaentresí.

4. Coloquelacubetaparalacalibraciónaceroyparaladeterminaciónenelcompartimen todemedicióndetalforma,quelagraduaciónconeltrianguloblancoseencuentredirigidaala marca de la carcasa.
