Open valve (C) on the claw (B).

NOTE For sheep/goat clusters with ITP205 the lever (D) must always be raised in the milking phase.

4

Kneel down beside the animal holding the cluster. Locate the teats onto which the cups must be attached and then attach the cluster to the animal.

NOTE This operation must be done as

quickly as possible to prevent vacuum loss.

CAUTION Make sure that the milk DOES

NOT overflow from the Ecobucket (E) as this would lead to milk entering the vacuum tank which would then have to be cleaned out at the end of milking operations.

5

Once milking has been completed, close the valve (C) on the claw (B).

NOTE This operation is important to avoid

the cluster from detaching from the teats and subjecting them to the action of the vacuum.

To clean the milking cluster and the Ecobucket proceed as follows:

Step Description

1 Start the electric pump by turning the switch (A) to position "1".

2 Take hold of the cluster so that the cover and the cups are pointing downwards.

3

Open valve (C) on the claw (B).

NOTE For sheep/goat units with ITP205 the lever (D) must always be raised in the washing phase.

4

Dip the cups (F) into a bowl (G) containing 10 litres of hot washing water. Then lift and lower the cluster repeatedly so that water and air enter the liners alternately. Continue with this operation until the whole 10 litres in the bowl have run out.

Step Description

5 Stop the electric pump by turning the switch (A) to position “0” and empty the water out of the Ecobucket.

6

Pour another 10 litres of water into the bowl (G) (see step “4”) this time adding the relative detergent.

Start the electric pump by turning the switch (A) to position “1” and repeat the washing operations described in step “4”.

7 Stop the electric pump once more and empty the washing water out of the Ecobucket, then repeat the washing operations only this time using 10 litres of cold water with the relative sanitizing agent.

8 Wash and rinse the lid and the outer surfaces of the Ecobucket and the claws.

9 Position the claws on the relative hooks located on the end of the arms on the trolley so that they can dry out.

10

Turn the Ecobucket (E) upside down so that any water left inside can drain off.

Using a soft (non-metallic) sponge, wipe out the inside of the Ecobucket to remove any residual detergent, disinfectant or dirty water which may still be inside.

16. MAINTENANCE

16.1. Electric pumps

Requirements for storage

The electric pumps must be stored in a sheltered place with an ambient temperature between 5°C and 40°C. If they are to be put away for a prolonged period of time, make sure that the storage place is clean, dry and free from vibrations. The pump must be operated for 10 seconds at least once every two weeks. Before start-up measure the insulation resistance of the electric motor and if necessary dry out the coil.

Insulation resistance

When the electric pump is started up for the very first time or after it has been in storage or inactive (stopped) for a long time, the electric motor coil resistance must be measured beforehand. This measurement is carried out by applying a 500V Direct Current and after approximately 1 minute the last resistance value is read.

WARNING

During the measurement or immediately afterwards, it is of the utmost importance to avoid the danger of contact wi th the powered motor terminals. Furthermore, if the power cables are connected, it is important to make sure that the ci rcuit is definitely interrupted. This warning is valid for b oth main and auxiliary circuits and above all for anti-condensat ion heating circuits (heating elements).

In dry coils such as new ones, the insulation resistance is greatly higher than the limit of 10MΩ. The insulation resistance of the coils of a motor which operates for a long time in a damp, dirty environment may drop. In this case the minimum insulation resistance at an ambient temperature of 25°C must not exceed 0.5MΩ / kV, which represents the specific critical value of the resistance (the minimum insulation resistance of motor coils = rated voltage (in kV) x 0.5MΩ which is the specific critical value of the resistance).

WARNING

If the measured insulation resistance is lower tha n the minimum value it is forbidden to operate the motor.

16.2. Periodical maintenance

Daily checks

Check the system's vacuum level on the relative vacuum gauge (V) before commencing any operations.

For sheep/goat clusters equipped with an ITP205 system, make sure that the air inlet hole on the claw or on the ITP 205 is free from all impurities or other material and that it is NOT clogged. If it is clogged it must be cleaned using the special pin as illustrated in the photo alongside.

Periodical checks Pulsator: please refer to the

instruction sheet provided in the pulsator box.

Liners: replace every 6 months or after 2500 milking operations.

Short pulse tubes: replace every 6 months or after 2500 milking operations.

Tube rings: replace when broken.

Electric pump vacuum tank: clean the inside of the electric pump vacuum tank once a month by removing the side cover (S).

17. ADJUSTMENTS

Regulating the vacuum level.

It is possible to increase the level of vacuum by tightening the relative adjustment valve (T).

It is possible to reduce the level of vacuum by slackening the relative adjustment valve (T).

The vacuum gauge (V) makes it possible for the operator to monitor the level of vacuum on the milking trolley at all times.
