MASS INTENTIONS
At the end of our weekend Masses, you will notice a few
individuals who are begging for money outside of the church
doors as you exit the building. These individuals have been
given the phone number for our parish’s St. Vincent de Paul
Society, for which they do not seem to be interested in.
However, it has been noticed that these very individuals come
early to the church to reconnoiter our parking lot for unlocked
car doors, thereby stealing items from within the cars. Please be
sure that the interior of your cars are clear of any items as
possible and be sure to keep your car doors locked.
Fridays during Lent: 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Adoration
6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Confession
6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Stations of the Cross
7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mass
SAFETY CONCERNS
Congratulations to all the children who received the
sacrament of First Reconciliation!
In April, we will begin to prepare the children for the
sacrament of First Communion through our retreat days and
class visits to our 6 Parish schools. Please refer to the RCIC
preparation schedule if your child attends a Public School,
Other Catholic School or is in grade 3-6, as there are no
classes until April 13th.
Please see below for the attire for First Communion (we
have two First Communion dresses available. Please let
Mrs. Selda know if you are interested):
-Boys must wear a white shirt, no running shoes. A suit can
be white or any other colour. Arm bands can be worn but
are not essential.
-Girls can wear a white or off white dress, if wearing a veil
they must not cover the face, no gloves, purses or rosary
during the celebration.
HEALTH & HANDS
At this time of the year when cold viruses and flus are common
place, we are conscious that we do not want to give or receive this
particular illness. At Mass, if someone should not extend his or
her hand to you, please do not be offended. Perhaps he or she
would not like to pass on his or her germs. To ensure that we have
a clean and healthy environment, we at St. Francis de Sales Parish
are constantly changing the water in our baptismal font as well as
sanitizing all surfaces handled by the public. If you have the flu,
we ask you to please stay home and rest. The Catholic Church
does not consider missing Mass on Sunday due to illness as a sin.
