Figures 1and3 show the relationof thepressureorvacuumpalletassemblytotheseatwhenatmosphericandtankpressuresareequal.The“wraparound”effectoftheresilientdiaphragmontheedgeoftheseatandtheresultinghighratioofseatingforcetoseatingareaaffordsatightseal.

Asthepressureorvacuumincreases,thepalletbeginsto rise.Because there is stillawrap-aroundeffectontheedgeoftheseat,goodsealingismaintained.Teflondiaphragmmemoryandlappedseatingsurfacefurtherenhancesealingcharacteristics.

As increasing pressure or vacuumcontinues to liftthepallet,thediaphragmisheldincloseproximitytotheseatbytheflatplanememoryof thediaphragmmaterial.

Assetpressureorvacuumisreachedthediaphragmleavestheseat(seeFigures2and4)andtheescapingvaporliftsthepalletevenfurther.

Thevacuumpalletisguidedinthesamemannerasthepressurepallet. Botharepallet stemandpallet sideguidedforsmoothmovement.

Steam Jacket Option:

Designed for useon tanks containing liquidswhosevaporscrystallizeatambient temperatures. Stainlesssteelpressureandvacuumpalletsarecasedinasteamheated jacket ensuring the valveswill be free fromplugging.Thejacketissteelorstainlesssteelconstruction.Thestandardjacketcanwithstandsteampressuresupto100psig.Higherpressureratingsareavailable.
