GSED will be hosting an AdvisorRetreat via Zoom on Saturday,October 17 from 9AM-12PM. We willbe having a few guest speakerscome in to talk about importantinformation and trainings, discussR&R, and provide an opportunity forquestions and guidance throughoutthis uncertain semester. Pleaseemail Shelby [email protected] by5pm on October 12 to let her know ifyou will be in attendance.
GSED would like to make everyoneaware of an event that is happeningnext week that would count towardsR&R and is going to be exciting, inperson, and educational! NextWednesday (9/23) at 5pm in the UCTheater, ICA will be showing He'sJust Not That Into You! The moviewill be followed by discussion aboutrelationship red flags. There will begiveaways and it is an opportunity togather in person, responsibly ofcourse! This film is the final eventfor the Red Zone schedule of events.The "Red Zone" is the first 6 weeks ofclass and is the time period thatsexual assault is most likely tooccur, especially for first yearwomen.

ICA is hosting an event in place of theTunnel of Oppression called TheDefamation Experience. The Defamation Experience beginswith a riveting courtroom drama thatexplores the highly charged issues ofrace, class, religion, gender, and thelaw with a twist—the audience is thejury. Combined with an audiencedeliberation and facilitateddiscussion, The DefamationExperience is a unique opportunity toengage in civil discourse about themost pressing social issues of ourday. The Fall 2020 DefamationExperience will be held virtually onWednesday, October 14th from 3-5pm and the additional follow upconversations on Wednesday,October 21st from 4-5pm, both onzoom. Links to register for the actualevents and for the follow updiscussion are on the ICA website –and you must individually sign up ifyou’d like to attend (not as a chapter).This counts as a R&R requirement!
