REQUIRED DATA /BASIC INFORMATION OF RTC Rajgir IN ENGLISH (Subject & particulars) (A) BRIEF HISTORY HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANC E OF PLACE HISTORY OF RTC RAJGIR - Establishment of Recruit training Centre 5 was approved by MHA on 14/09/2004 and established on 11/03/2005 at Haridwar (Uttarakhand). Since suitable land could not be acquired for RTC-5 completely shifted at Dharampur (H.P) on 15/06/2005. Later MHA accorded sanction on 09/11/2006 for acquisition of 168.70 acre land at Rajgir, District- Nalanda (Bihar) for establishment of RTC-V. and RTC was shifted to Rajgir with its headquarters at GC, CRPF, Mokamaghat during May-2011 due to shortage of accommodation and lack of basic amenities at Rajgir location . RTC-Rajgir has finally shifted in totality to it’s key location i.e Rajgir on 15/12/2016. (A) BRIEF HISTORY

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF PLACE

HISTORY OF RTC RAJGIR - Establishment of Recruit training Centre –5 was approved by MHA on 14/09/2004 and established on 11/03/2005 at Haridwar (Uttarakhand). Location & Connectivity: - RTC – Rajgir Camp Is Situated at a Prominent Tourist Place Rajgir (Bihar) at the Footsteps of Vaibhav Giri Mountain Range. Connecttivity :- By Train & Road

The institution is located at Rajgir about 10 km from Rajgir Railway station and about 08 km from Rajgir town.

Rajgir is about 25 km from district HQR Bihar-Sharif Rajgir is connected with state capital Patna via Bakhtiarpur by rail and road . Rajgir is around 110 km from Patna. NH-30A connects between Patna and Bakhtiarpur

(50 km). Further NH- 31 connects Bakhtiyarpur to Bihar Sharif (35 km) and finally Bihar-Sharif to Rajgir is connected by NH-82 (25 KM)

TRAINING:- This training institution has capacity to train 1215 Constable/Recruits at a time.

CLIMATIC CONDITION

CLIAMATE- Rajgir town is situated in valley surrounded by seven hills i.e. Vaibhav, Ratna, Saila, Sona, Udaya, Chhatha and Vipul. Rajgir has also developed as a health and winter resort due to its warm water springs/ponds. These baths are said to contain some medicinal properties that help in cure of many skin diseases. Temperature :- Summer - Maximum 470C &Minimum 200C Winter - Maximum 280C &Minimum 060C Rainfall - 885 mm (July to September) Dry /warm season – March to July .

JOINING INSTRUCTION OF RTC RAJGIR

1. OBJECTIVE

To develop the understanding of organizational culture.

To inculcate the sense of belongingness and responsibility towards the force.

To develop and maintain a motivated, disciplined and physically robust force.

To develop and maintain skills required for successful accomplishment ofmission of the

force.

To develop physical as well as mental toughness and confidence to withstand and negotiate

upcoming challenges in the ground.

To make them professionally sound and competent in handling and firing of various

weapon.

To enable a recruit to acquire the necessary knowledge, skill, attitude and the fitness

required for effective discharging their duties.

2. TRAINING AND DAILY ROUTINE –

There will berigorous basic training duration of 44weeks for RTs/GD and 08 weeksfor

RT/Tradesman.

No training shall be imparted on Sunday and Gazetted holidays (excluding Jungle camp

training)

On holidays, training area and kit shall be cleaned and maintained.

There shall be ten periods in a working day including game period. One period is of 40

minute duration with an inter-period break of 5 minutes.

There shall be 7periods before lunch and 3 periods after lunch.

Training during night shall also be impartedaccording to the training syllabus.

04-week jungle camp training covering 01-week self-contained exercise is also included in

44 weeks basic training.

Recruits are being trained and taught about physical endurance training, clearing

obstacles, handling of personal/area/support weapon.

Firing of various small arms viz. 5.56mm INSAS Rifle, LMG, AK-47, Carbine & Pistol.

Indoor classes on Provision of various laws and acts, Internal Security, riot-drill, Human

Rights, election duty etc.

Outdoor classes and demonstrations on field/battle craft, tactics, jungle warfare,IED,

explosives, are also run for recruits during their B/Trg.

2 weeks Mid-Term break after completion of 22-week Basic Trg.

3. CAPACITY OF TRAINING –

This training institution has capacity to train1215 Constable/Recruits at a time.

However, it is experienced that the kit items issued by GCs are not sufficient for entire duration

of basic training, due to excess of wear & tear during training. Hence RTs are advised to arrange

sufficient number of following articles/items before reporting for their basic training at this

institution. A directive list of articles required during basic training in as under –

Note – please ensure that “All issued uniforms items / shoes etc. should be properly fitted and

sized to concerned RTs”.

B- DOCUMENTS

Before dispatching RTs for basic training at this institution concerned BNs / GCs should

ensure completion of all-initial documentation as mentioned below –

Preparation of service book, recruitment roll, initiation of verification of character /

education certificate etc.

Bank account with ATM/Cheque-book.

Preparation and completion of nomination forms/PIS data/DCPS with form S-1 etc.

This training center will not take the responsibility of completing these documents after

arrival of recruits for basic training.

The following documents must be sent along with the party I/C of the Recruits: -

i) Movement Order - CRPF-33 ii) Medical History Sheet - CRPF-50 iii) KIUL - CRPF-14 iv) Recruits progress sheet - CRPF-13 (Affixed a resent passport size photo of recruits and dully attested by competent authority.) v) Nominal Roll vi) Copy of condonation if any vii) Mess advance of Rs. 4,000/ cash. viii) 10 Nos passport size recent photograph in uniform.

5.RECEPTION AND TRANSPORTATION.

On receipt of order from training directorate, respective Group Centre will ensure timely

dispatch of all RTs under proper supervision of SO/UO.

This institution shall be intimated about date & time of arrival of parties well in advance.

On receipt of prior information Govt. transport will be provided to recruits on arrival at

Railway StationRajgir. Moreover, one SO/UOis beingdetailed at nearest Railway Station

for assistance/guidance of arriving parties.

06 SPORTS,RECREATIONAL AND OTHER FACILITIES

The following sports and recreational facilities for recruits are available in this institution: - SPORTS: - Facilities to play Football, VolleyBall, Basket Ball, Hand Ball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Cricket, Badminton

etc. are available and competitions at various levels are being organized.

RECREATIONAL FACILITIES: -

TV with cable connection, News Papers and various periodicals as well as other Indoor games facilities are available. LIBRARY: -

For the recreation and awareness of Recruits, sufficient Books and periodicals are available in the Library.

CANTEEN: -

CPC subsidiary canteen, Wet Canteen& Mobile recharge center is also functioning in this

institution from where RTs can purchase all about necessary items at a reasonable price.

OUTPASS: - After successfully passing the Foot Drill Test on 12TH week, Recruits are given out pass on holidays with which they may visit historical/ religious places in and around the area. CINEMA: - Films of various genres, such as,patriotic, entertainment, war and training are being shown to trainees on weekly basis by using our own resources viz. projector, TV/cable, DVD etc.

07. LEAVE No leave will be sanctioned to any RT during entire period of Basic training except extreme compassionate ground. 02-week mid-term break will be granted after successful completion of 22 weeks basic training.

08. MEDICAL FACILITIES

A professionally competent team of Medical staff composing medical officer and other para-medical staff is available.

A well-equipped MI room is available. In addition to this, medical facilities available at Govt. hospitals viz. PMCH, IMIMS etc. is

being utilized as on requirement.

09. ACCOMMODATION: -

Trainees and staffs are being accommodated in available barracks and PF huts .

10. MESSING Separate wing-wise messing arrangement has been made for trainees.

Separate messing facility has been made for staffs.

A nutritious & hygienic food menu is being followed in all messes on the basis of dietary

requirements of trainees / staff and the menu is periodically reviewed.

11. DISCHARGE If any recruit wants discharge, formalities of discharge will be completed by the

DIGP/PRINCIPAL RTC RAJGIR CRPF

respective group centre.

12. DISCIPLINE

i. Recruits are not permitted to keep their families while under training.

ii. All recruits should maintain high standard of discipline.

iii. All are expected to strictly adhere to the orders and regulations issued by the

Principal, from time to time.

iv. Consumption of liquor, lending and borrowing of money etc. are strictly prohibited.

v. Apart from above, thePrincipal, of the institution will exercise all disciplinary powers

in respect of the recruits during training period.

vi. Recruits are not permitted to leave the campus without permission of the

competent authority.

vii. All localities outside the campus are out of bound however, the recruits will be

permitted go out with proper out pass under a party commander after 12 weeks of

training in rotation.

Parents and relatives are not allowed to visit their wards while they are under basic training.
