Late Shri Mohan Lal Goyal built district's one of the renowned business setup. His life journey is reminiscent of the rags to riches story.He was born in 1942 at Cheema, Punjab, into a family serving humanity. His father was a well-known vaid. After doing matriculation, he started his journey by setting up a small grocery store in a village, doing all menial jobs to earn his living. Assisted by his three sons, he bought a petrol pump in partnership. Over time his business grew and he bought more dealerships, diversified his business with additional interest in setting up rice mill, pipe factory etc.We all suffered a huge loss when Shri Mohan Lal Goyal aboded in heaven in 2015.He was a family man who always believed in unity between his sons and their families. His business is now taken care by his sons, who live jointly with their mother. This new initiative is yet another step towards realizing his dream.His stories of hardship, labour and success set new benchmarks, and serve as an inspiration to everyone.

WHY MLG CONVENT SCHOOL?As an educator, Late Sri. Mohan Lal Goyal had an earnest desire that his family, as well as society must be literate. Being a businessman and an educator, he strongly believed that ‘An Investment in Knowledge pays the best interest’. Today, his thoughts and his relations with high educated families reflect through his family. His sons, daughters, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandsons and granddaughters are well educated and settled in their lives.

His life mantra, "Excellence is never an accident, it’s always the result of high intention, sincere efforts, intelligent direction and skillful execution." best describe the present state of the MLG.

To impart his philosophy to the society, his family is going to establish an institution where education blended in all colors of human values will be provided. The primary purpose of MLG is not only to prepare students to live a useful life, but to teach them how to live pragmatically and immediately in their current environment.

MLG Convent School is being started under the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi pattern with two wings KINDERGARTEN & SENIOR WING to cater the educational needs of the children from this year April 2020 by the management of Sita Devi Educational Society, Cheema (Sangrur) Punjab.

PLAY CLASS

Your toddler is sharp, quick on the uptake, curious, eager to learn and full of energy. He is also toilet trained. You think the child is ready for school, but his age doesn't put him in the school going bracket.

We have the answer for you. At our Play Class, we have a blend of the traditional and the modern. The environment combines the comfort and security of home on one hand, and the challenge, excitement and innovation of a pre-school on the other.

Play Class is a child's first step away from home. The two and a half hours spent here are designed for them to enjoy, learn and to adjust. Their foray into Nursery next year would be without the pangs of separation, anxiety and stress.

Play, Music, Colour activity, storytelling and dramatics form the day's charter for the child. A major part of the day is spent outdoors.

" No School Uniform for students." Timings are 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon (Monday to Friday)." Children are free to wear comfortable clothes and shoes." There is no formal syllabus, hence no prescribed books.


NURSERY AND LOWER KINDERGARTEN

COMPUTER Lab

Well-designed and separate computer labs for kids and older children, run by a well-educated and qualified faculty, with one-on-one access, which means there is one computer for each child. Pre-primary kids learn words through PowerPoint presentations and innovative software. We have invested in new ERP software which would further raise teaching-learning-working at MLGCS to contemporary technological standards. There are 40 computers in our labs currently. They are state-of-the-art with multimedia. LED monitors that are easier on eyes, generate less heat and consume less power thereby keeping the classroom atmosphere comfortable for children.

LIBRARY:The serene ambience inspires a love for

reading. Information at the click of a fingertip invites the young users to delve into the magical world of words and the wealth of research material available. The school has a well-equipped library for, the Junior Wing ,the Middle Wing and the Senior Wing . Interaction with eminent authors, book reviews and reading sessions are conducted regularly exposing students to good writing and reading skills.

The reference library, which is Fully Computerized and houses a huge collection of books, is a treasure trove of information that has been built assiduously over years and continues to grow each year.


COMPOSITE SCIENCE Lab

The School has well equipped (SPECIALLY WITH INTERACTIVE PENAL BOARD) laboratory for Physics, Chemistry and Biology-means a composite Lab. Students are encouraged to use this laboratory to learn through experiments. Every year latest instruments, specimens, charts etc. will be purchased for these laboratories.Science experiments are vital for kids. They are useful in understanding the theories and concepts of science that cannot be comprehended alone by science text books.

LANGUAGE Lab

(For IELTS & Personality Development)Language Laboratory at MLG Convent School is well equipped to nurture and facilitate effective language learning. The use of the Interactive English software along with headsets with mike, is very useful for students, learning languages for communication. A Grading System is followed for evaluating the performance of students also from Pre-Nursery to Class-2nd.For Class 3rd to 8th, a Student will have to obtain minimum of 40% marks in aggregate and aminimum of 50% marks in each subject as well as in subjects which have examination in

practical, they are required to obtain 60% marks in both Practical & Theory.For promotion to the Next Class, Cumulative Performance of the Student is taken into consideration.A student who fails for two consecutive years in the same class or fails twice in three years will betaken away from the school.Progress Report Card will be given to the student at the end of every term. This must be signed bythe Parents/Guardians & returned to the class teacher within 2 days.No exemption will be granted for any of the Term Examinations except on Medical Ground.Re-Examination (with the fine Rs. 500/-if permitted) & promotion in the next class can only with the Please note that it is compulsory for the student to attend all the tests and examinations forgetting promotion to the higher classes.Students will have to go according to the divided syllabus mean for the concerned test or examination.

SPECIAL GUIDELINE

Imagine a school with no rules and regulations. Would there be order inside the school

premises? Would the students be disciplined and proper in behaving inside the school? Would a school

still be called a school? Rules and regulations in a school are important, for these enable discipline for

students, make a school orderly, and maintain the quality of the school.

* Be punctual, report to school and class on time.

* Strive to be present on every school day. In case of absence, parents should inform the school or

application should be sent.

* Respect each other at all times. Disagreements will be settled by discussing the problem and seeking a

solution that is fair to all concerned.

* Buildings and the campus will be kept clean and neat. Do not deface or damage school property.

* Maintain order when moving to different areas. Do not run; running is a frequent cause of injuries.

* Remain within school boundaries all times. Students leaving the campus must have a student pass

and must be accompanied by parent/guardian.

* Students are not allowed to carry cell phone, ipod, extra money valuables unless permission is granted

by the school staff.

* All students are supposed to speak English in the school and on their way to school as well to home.

* Every Student possess the school diary which should be brought to school daily.

* If the teacher does not arrive in the class within two minutes after the bell has rung for a period, the

monitor of the class will assume responsibility for order and discipline in the class.

* Students are not allowed to give their teachers individual or collective presents/gifts.

* Parents are requested not to enter in the class rooms during teaching.

* Prior appointment can be taken from the school reception.

* No friends or acquaintances will be entertained on behalf of the parents.

* Students will not be allowed to enter in the school after 15 min. of assembly.

* Long absence for more than 10 days without any information.

* Not paid of Dues.

Application for leave for 4 days should be signed from the class in-charge and for more than 4 daysshould be signed from Principal.Medical leave must be accompanied with medical information.A minimum annual attendance of the students required is 90% to sit in the final Examination.Attendance of students in and on all the occasions/school activities, particularly on the celebrations of Independence Day, Republic Day etc. is compulsory.Parents should avoid asking leave for their wards unless essential.

Students attaining 100% attendance during the session will be awarded.

Absence on medical grounds for more than three days, should be supported by a medical certificate.

No student will be allowed to leave school during the working hours without the permission of the

Principal.

A pupil returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease should produce a

doctor's certificate permitting him/her to do so.

Special Fine Rs. 1000/- will be imposed if a student found indulge in the followings :-

(a) Misbehaves in the class with teachers and mates.

(b) Uses unfair means during examination.

(c) Violates discipline of the school.

(d) Arrives school without proper uniform.

(e) Arrives late to school without parent's written or pre-notice.

(f) Damages school Property.

Note :

All rights are reserved to the management regarding change and implement of any new rule in the school.

Rules/holidays can be changed according to the Board and government order time to time.


HOW TO GET ADMISSION?1.REGISTRATION :Pull out the REGISTRATION FORM attached to the last page of this prospectus. Fill it carefully and accurate (School will not responsible for any mistake in filled form) and submit in the school office by the last notified date.

2. DOCUMENTS:* All other original certificates will be returned after attestation.

3. ENTRANCE TEST :a) Candidates seeking admission to MLG Convent School in any class will have to appear and clear an entrance test.b). The test will be in subjects of English, Science and Maths.c). School reserves the right to test the child in other subjects too, if needed.

4. RESULT OF TEST :*Admission test result will be put on the notice board on a specified date.* No postal or telephonic information in this regard may be expected.

5. FEE Parents/Guardians of selected candidates will have to deposit the fee at the accounts counter.NOTE :- Fee will be increased by 8% every year.

WITHDRAWAL Parents who wish to withdraw their child must notify the Principal in writing, of their intention at least one month prior to the withdrawal of the pupil. Those who are leaving after the academic session should inform in the month of February or fee for the first quarter will have to be paid.

The school authorities reserve the right to dismiss those pupils from the school whose conduct is found unsatisfactory.

A pupil's name may be struck off the School Register if she/he is absent from the school for more than 10 days without the Principal's prior permission. Should she/he wish to re-join this school she/he will have to fulfil the conditions for admission like a new pupil.
