Use of Progressive Ideology
What we’re aiming for: Encouraging students to develop their own
reasons for wanting to go to college Grounding these reasons in the students’ prior
experiences Preparing students to take ownership over their
decisions in high school Having students learn from each other
Design Process
Going over ideas with College Track directors. Getting thumbs up / thumbs down from College
Track students on our ideas for activities. Enlisting the help of peers in class on better
scaffolding methods, timing etc.
Theme One: Leadership and Teamwork Experience the challenges and
benefits of working with their peers Understand the difficulties and
rewards of being an excellent leader
