To earn a degree at one of the country’s top school for theatre, I completed four years of specialized studio training and academic seminars in theatre history, dramatic theory and criticism, and cultural studies. I was awarded a BFA in Acting with Honors in Theatre Theory.

B.F.A. ACTING (WITH HONORS IN THEATRE THEORY)Sept. 1998 - May 2002New York University

Combining knowledge from interdisciplinary coursework (e.g., art history, cultural studies, theatre history) and archival research conducted in Venice, Edinburgh, and London, I completed my dissertation in 2010. After thoroughly revising and developing new material for the project, I published this work as a book titled Baroque, Venice, Theatre, Philosophy (Palgrave Macmillan 2017).

Sept. 2005 - May 2010Univ. of MinnesotaM.A., PH.D. THEATRE HISTORIOGRAPHY

As a co-editor in a team of international scholars, I attract proposals, provide feedback on initial drafts of manuscripts, and work with peer-reviewers to ensure the highest quality of scholarship in the Performance Philosophy Book Series (within Palgrave Macmillan). I also interact directly with authors to interpret feedback and plan revisions.

Dec. 2015 - PresentPalgrave MacmillanBOOK SERIES EDITOR

I served as both a member of the Executive Committee and as the Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. In both positions I advised the University President and Provost. Daily tasks required setting meeting agendas, studying and suggesting revisions to academic policy, facilitating interpersonal communications, and relaying complex thoughts to a team through writing.

Aug. 2015 - June. 2016Illinois State Univ.ADMINISTRATOR - ACADEMIC SENATE

For a decade, I created course curricula, designed and assessed assignments, facilitated class discussions, prepared lectures, and mentored students in a 1-1 setting. Additionally, I worked with colleagues to achieve learning objectives, write and revise institutional policy, and administer awards to both faculty and students.

I have taught undergraduate and graduate classes in dramatic literature, theatre history, and pedagogical theory. Currently I co-edit a major book series for Palgrave Macmillan, curate sections of a scholarly journal devoted to performance, present at international conconferences on topics across the Humanities, and publish scholarly books and articles. I am now seeking to apply my skills as an administrator in higher education in order to influence policy and act as a student advocate.
