Hay Poder en el Nombre de Jesús
Una vez di testimonio de cómo, hace muchos años, el diablo me atacó y fui liberado al invocar el nombre sagrado de Jesús. Acababa de entregarle mi vida a Cristo, me había unido a la Renovación
Carismática Católica, estaba participando activamente en la iglesia y desarrollaba una vida fuerte en oración. Un día, mientras dormía, sentí algo poderoso presionándome y asfixiándome. Intenté pero no podía moverme, respirar o hablar. De alguna manera, supe que al llamar el nombre de Jesús, el me liberaría del ataque, pero no podía. Aun así, no me di por vencido. El ataque continuo por un rato hasta que finalmente grite "¡Jeee-s-u-s!" El efecto fue instantáneo. Como neblina, la experiencia desapareció y fui liberado.
Los nombres son muy importantes. Hay nombres que pueden abrir puertas e influir en comunidades, instituciones y naciones. La gente usa nombres como referencia muchas veces para influir en las decisiones a su favor. El nombre de Jesús es el más poderoso de todos los nombres porque controla el cielo y la tierra. Esta verdad fue claramente enseñada por Jesús mismo y por los apóstoles. En la primera lectura de hoy, San Pedro afirmó que " no hay salvación en ningún otro, pues bajo el cielo no se ha dado a los hombres ningún otro Nombre por el cual debamos ser salvados" (Hechos 4:12) De acuerdo con San. Pablo:
Por eso Dios lo engrandeció y le dio el Nombre que está sobre todo nombre, para que al Nombre de Jesús se doble toda rodilla en los cielos, en la tierra y entre los muertos, y toda lengua proclame que Cristo Jesús es el Señor, para gloria de Dios Padre. Filipenses 2:9-11
Pero ellos solo estaban haciendo eco de las enseñanzas de su Señor y Salvador Jesucristo: Más tarde, Jesús se apareció a los once mientras comían...Y les dijo .... “Vayan por todo el mundo y prediquen el Evangelio a toda la creación.... Estos signos acompañarán a todos los que creen: en mi nombre expulsarán demonios; hablarán en nuevas lenguas; recogerán serpientes con sus manos; y cuando beban veneno mortal, no les hará ningún daño; cuando pongan sus manos sobre los enfermos, sanarán ". Mc 16, 14.
No usamos el nombre de Jesús lo suficiente. Jesús no quiere que nos contengamos. Más bien, él quiere que usemos su nombre a menudo para pedir por nuestras necesidades: "En verdad les digo que todo lo que pidan al Padre en mi Nombre, se lo concederá. Hasta ahora no han pedido nada en mi Nombre. Pidan y recibirán, así conocerán el gozo completo." Jn 16:24
El nombre de Jesús es el mantra más poderoso y efectivo. Úsenlo a menudo!
There is Power in Jesus’ Name
I once gave a testimony of how, many years ago, I had a diabolical attach and was liberated by calling on the sacred name of Jesus. I had just turned my life to Christ, joined the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, got actively involved in the church and developed a strong prayer life. One day, while asleep, I felt something powerful pressing me down and suffocating me. I tried but I couldn’t move, breath or speak. Somehow, I knew that calling the name of Jesus would free me from the attack, but I couldn’t. But I never gave up either. It went on for a while before I finally yelled “Jeee-s-u-s!” The effect was instant. Like a mist, the whole experience disappeared and I was freed.
Names are very important. There are names that can open doors and influence communities, institutions and nations. People drop names all the times to influence decisions in their favor. The name of Jesus is the most powerful of all names in that it controls heaven and earth. This truth was clearly taught by Jesus himself and the apostles. In the first reading today, St. Peter claimed that “there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) According to St. Paul:
God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
But they were only echoing the teaching of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating…. He said to them…. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation…. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Mk 16:14
We don’t use the name of Jesus nearly enough. Jesus doesn’t want us to hold back. Rather, he wants us to use his name often to ask for our needs: “Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” Jn 16:24
The name of Jesus is the most powerful and effective mantra. Use it often!

YOUTH MINISTRY
Every year once confirmation is done I get the same question in one shape or form which is “What do you do now that Confirmation is over?” Well just because confirmation is over doesn’t mean that we have nothing to do. We continue to do youth group throughout the summer and Junior High goes until they get out of school. On top of that we have retreats and conferences that we go to during the summer. I think the reason I get this question is because people see Confirmation like its a graduation. In other words, oh they did their time there so now their done and don’t have to come back. Confirmation is not the end but rather its the beginning. It is the start of your fully initiated faith life and is a daily job. One of my favorite scripture passages is from Ephesians 6:11 which is the Armor of God. I love this passage because our faith is a daily battle and we need to be prepared to fight that battle with the right equipment. Your faith journey doesn’t end when you get confirmed but rather should be continued. If a knight using a sword to fight never sharpens his blade then eventually it will become dull and therefore will not work and he will not be able to properly fight with it. Same thing with our faith, if we dont continue going to mass and growing in our faith then we are not keeping our Armor well kept and if we go to fight we may not be up to the battle because of it. So put on the Armor of God and continue growing in your faith so that we can all be soldiers for Christ. Upcoming Events: May 15-No Youth Group May 16-No Edge

Es el comienzo de su vida de fe completamente iniciada y es un trabajo diario. Uno de mis pasajes favoritos de las Escrituras es de Efesios 6:11, que es la Armadura de Dios. Me encanta este pasaje porque nuestra fe es una batalla diaria y debemos estar preparados para luchar en esa batalla con el equipo adecuado. Su viaje de fe no termina cuando se confirma, sino que debe continuar. Si un caballero que usa una espada para pelear que nunca afila su espada, eventualmente se volverá sin filo y, por lo tanto, no funcionará y no podrá luchar adecuadamente con ella. Lo mismo con nuestra fe, si no continuamos yendo a misa y creciendo en nuestra fe, entonces no estamos manteniendo nuestra Armadura bien mantenida y si vamos a pelear, es posible que no estemos preparados para la batalla por eso. 1. Religious education is now taking registrations for pre- school, kindergarten, first communion and post- communion classes which begin this September. Registration forms are on the religious education office door (located central to the school) and online under sacredheartventura.org/faithformation. Instructions for registering are on the back of the form. 2. First year interviews are currently being conducted.
Children must recite prayers on the red sheet and parents register for second year classes. Interviews are Sundays from 10:00AM to 12:00PM (Mother’s Day excluded), Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30PM.
