General Tips
• Ensure that you have the latest version of the App (periodically delete the App and search for the Scorer App on the iTunes Store or Google Play and download when you have access to Wifi).
• Ensure that you are running the latest version of Operating Software on your device (the previous version is also supported, but not versions prior to the previous).
• Ensure that no other Apps or programs are still running in the background - this includes the tablet "Settings" App which you may have used to connect to Wifi or to link via Hotspot.
• Fully charge your device prior to the match and consider purchasing a battery backup - these are now relatively inexpensive and readily available.
• Check that all players from both teams have at least been registered to the Association administering the competition, and, preferably, already been included in the Selected Teams prior to the match.
• When the "Is this the end of the over?" appears at the end of each over, use this as an opportunity to double check the scores from the over. If there is an issue, select "No" and use the red "erase" button to correct any errors.
Specific Tips for Carnivals
• Where possible, if teams are drawing players from a nominated squad, select the full squad of players for each match/round prior to the start of the tournament. It is easier to delete players not in the XI on the morning of the match than to have to select the teams from scratch.
• Where possible, ascertain the Left Handed Batsmen and Left Handed Bowlers and change their status to LHB or LAB in the Select Teams screen.
• Where possible, obtain a Match Program with the Players’ Shirt Numbers
and if obtainable, arrange the teams in Batting Order via the “Select
Teams” or Selected Teams option.

Wrong Batsman?
Scenario: You have been given misinformation about who is at the crease, or a batsman has retired
Click on the Batsman’s name whom you wish to replace.
Leave the Change Reason as “Unknown Reason” and select the Batsman whom you wish to use as
the replacement from the Drop-Down list.
You can also use this method to Retire a batsman or in the event that they are Retired Hurt (click the
Change Reason drop-down list).

Wrong Bowler?
Scenario: You have been given misinformation about who is bowling the over, or a bowler is unable
to complete an over due to injury.
Make sure that at least one delivery has been recorded on the App for the over (even if it is against
the wrong bowler). Then:
Click on the Bowler’s name
Choose the replacement bowler from the Drop-Down list
Select “Yes” if you have realised that you have got the wrong bowler bowling.
Select “No” if you are replacing a bowler because they have injured themselves during the over.

Editing a current over
Scenario: You have made an entry-error during the current over, or the umpire has changed his or
her decision, or you have missed entering a delivery, or you wish to re-enter a delivery or pitch-
map/wagon wheel entry.
Hit the Reverse Arrow once for every ball you need to erase to get back to where the error was
made.
You may backtrack all the way to the commencement of the over.

Editing a past over: Incorrect entry
Scenario: You have made an entry-error during a previous over
Click on the “Edit” button.
Select the relevant ball and then make any necessary changes on the right.

Editing a past over: Missed delivery
Scenario: You have missed entering a delivery during a previous over
Drag the “N” down into the vacant space where you need to create the missed delivery. In the
example above the arrow on the left would be to add a missed delivery after the first dot ball in the
over (from left to right).

Editing the Scorecard
Scenario: You have a major inconsistency with what has been recorded
Confused one bowler for another for a period of several overs
Confused one batsman for the other batsman at the crease, or for a batsman who is yet to
bat
An incorrect entry was made but you can’t be sure which over it occurred in
Open up the menu by clicking on the downwards pointing arrow ▼ (top right of screen)
Select the player involved by clicking the symbol on the far right on the row containing that player’s
name.

Editing the Scorecard (continued)
Make the required changes and then click done.
Note: Making changes to one player may require equal and opposite changes to another player,
depending on the situation e.g. there was confusion regarding whether two batsmen crossed prior
to a Caught dismissal, then the new batsman scored two boundaries off the two remaining balls in
that over. After the next over commenced, the scorers realised that they had scored the boundaries
under the assumption that the two boundaries had been scored by the not out batsman from the
Caught dismissal. The fix would be to subtract 8 runs, 2 Fours and 2 Balls Faced from the new
batsman, and add 8 runs, 2 Fours and 2 Balls Faced to the previously not out batsmen.
Likewise, if you have got two batsmen mixed up from the start of the match, this is one way of
correcting it. Once they have been dismissed, write down their stats from the box above, and then
replace them with each other’s stats.

you wish to make the Wagon Wheel or Pitch Map appear when it hasn’t been appearing.

Click Application Settings.
Change the “Yes” to a “No”, or “No” to a “Yes” and click “Done”.
Don’t forget to click done!

play (Rain or other issue), an innings has ended, or the match has ended
