• A great way to introduce yourself!• learn something about color schemes(colors that look good together) • Improve your compositional skills (how to organize a page) • Learn some new lettering styles

Steps to create your name design…

• Look at images of various lettering styles on the

handouts I gave you. You can also use your phone (only for looking up font styles…or, you can make up your own.

• Make sure that your letters are large and hollow.

They can overlap if you want.

Fill the space• Your letters should fill most of the page *Outline

your name in Sharpie

• You can write your name normal with a light pencil, then draw around it and then erase the guidelines

Next, draw lines dividing up the entire page. Your lines will go right through your name. Use pencil for this and don’t press hard. Keep the lines light.They can be straight or curvey

Some ideas…….• Include personal symbols or drawings of things that interest you

• Repeat designs, so that the overall composition looks unified

• Think of color schemes

red, yellow, orange for a warm feel…

Blue, violet, green for a cool feel…

Using all of the same color but adding white and black.
