Why We Want to Adopt

We love you for the sacrifice you are making for this child. Our names are Sarah and Alan, and we are anxious to meet you. We can only imagine the emotions you are going through right now, and we want you to know how much we appreciate all that you are doing.

We have been married since 2012, and we have decided to grow our family. Over the past few years we have spent time in prayer asking for guidance on how to best make this happen. We feel that adoption is the best choice for us due to medical conditions that will make it challenging for us to have biological children. This was tough for us to accept, but we trust in God and feel that now is the right time to add a child to our lives through adoption.  

Who We Are

As a couple we have important beliefs that keep our marriage strong and will one day help us as parents. First is our relationship to God. We are members of a local church and we also volunteer our time with organizations that help teenagers grow close to God. Our parenting philosophy will be firmly rooted in God-centered ideas and we will continue to attend church on a weekly basis with our child. Our next important belief is giving back to the community. We are both teachers and we feel that this experience helps us build our community by making a positive impact in the lives of our students. Education has been an important aspect in each of our lives as we both have college degrees. We want to help our students in the same way that mentors in our own lives assisted us. While our careers as educators are important, our next core belief is family first. As teachers we have family-friendly schedules and we are committed to spending quality time together, and with our future child. We enjoy our free time together by taking walks with our two dogs, cooking healthy meals, and exercising. We cannot wait to build playtime with our child into our list of quality time activities.

If you choose us we want you to know that your child will grow up safe, secure, and without want. We live in a nice neighborhood that has little to no crime. On our street are many young families, and it is a common sight to look out the window to see a diverse group of children playing games or riding their bikes to nearby parks or swimming pools. Our bond as husband and wife is secure and your child will have the support of a large family group. Both sets of grandparents are alive, healthy, and VERY ready to be grandparents. Sarah’s parents are especially excited as this child be will their first grandbaby. We each have one sibling, both of whom are married. Sarah’s sister and her husband are looking forward to being an aunt and an uncle for the first time, while Alan’s brother and his wife already have a baby boy who can’t wait to meet his cousin. Our financial situation is also secure, and we have more than enough money to provide for a child. While no teacher ever became fabulously wealthy from a state salary, our income is extraordinarily stable and we live very comfortable middle-class lives. In addition to our teachers’ salaries we each have part-time jobs that take up little time. Sarah is a Realtor and Alan is a part-time professor for a local community college.
