New Logo for Rotary year 2018-2019In preparation for the changeover to a new Rotary year, the President-Elects and other club officershave been busy attending training sessions. Our upcoming District Governor, Susan ZW, attended theInternational Conference in San Diego where the new Rotary logo was unveiled by our next RI President.
RI President-Elect Barry Rassin's chosen theme is Be the Inspiration. He says, "I ask all of you to Be theInspiration to help Rotary move from reaction to action - take a hard look at the environmental issuesthat effect health and welfare around the world and do what we can to help."
This logo should be used in all publicity your club uses including websites and Facebook pagesbeginning July 1st. Begin downloading the logo and other resource materials at Rotary Club Central'sBrand Center.

Growing club membership - satellite clubsRotary International has approved the development of satellite clubs to increase overall Rotarymembership. Several clubs in our district have either developed a satellite club or are looking into theoption. If your club is seeking this ideas as a way to grow your club's membership, here's someinformation that you might find helpful. Goochland Club help spread warmth
The Goochland Club delivered 60 free loads of firewood to those in their community that depend onRotary to stay warm during the cold winter months.
Mechanicsville Club's Christmas Parade a success
Two community service clubs of Mechanicsville (Mechanicsville Rotary Club and Mechanicsville RuritanClub), co-organize the annual Christmas parade. This year, the clubs presented a check to the HanoverChristmas mother in the amount of $2,439.75. The proceeds come from the weenie wagons thattraverse the parade route offering sandwiches and drinks.

Warwick Club Cleans Up
The Warwick Club spent a day doing their roadside clean up as part of the Adopt a Highway program.
Several other clubs in our district also participate in this program.

Prepare for Club Awards NowAs we approach the end of this Rotary year, Club presidents can begin now to prepare for Club Awards.There are many ways in which a club can be recognized for all the hard work they have done all year.The details for the Rotary Citation (formerly Presidential Citation) as well as other club awards can befound on the District Website under the Member Resources Tab (under District Resources).
Hanover Country Rotary Club joins with other clubs forGlobal Grant
The Hanover County Rotary Club has been working for the past year on the development of a GlobalGrant to support a project at the Lott Carey Mission School in Monrovia, Liberia (district 9101). The clubwas recently notified that the their grant was approved.
The projectd includes the drilling of a six-inch diameter deep well, construction of a pump supply house,and refurbishing of the existing water tower. It will also proved a deep-well submersible pump and all thefittings and piping needed to connect the well to the water tower and the Lott Carey Mission schoolcampus.
To complete this project, the Hanover Club has partnered with the Rotary Club of Monrovia, Liberia andclubs from District 7600 including Ashland, Henrico East, James River, Mechanicsville, Petersburg,Richmond and Sandston.
