A Never-Ending Gift But Peter got up and ran to the tomb, bent down,

-Luke 24:12

“Jesus foretold his resurrection to his apostles, and Peter was amazed when he saw that it actually had happened. Easter tells us that we are so loved and so important to God that he never wants to be without us. It tells us that our relationships with our loved one will never end. And it says that our awareness of God’s beauty and our appreciation of creation’s magnificene will deepen throughout eternity because we will always find more to know. Living With Resurrection They said to them,

“Why do you seek the living one among the dead?” -Luke 24:5

Resurrection morning is full of confirmation, surprises, and questions. The Easter gospels echo our own very practical concerns: “Who will roll the stone away?; “Why are you weeping?”; “Who are you looking for?” Perhaps most telling are the words posed to the women carrying spices to the tomb at dawn: “Why do you seek the living one among the dead?” Today we celebrate the feast of Easter and the call to live as if Jesus’ resurrection has truly taken place. The news of Jesus risen and among us can sometimes feel like nonsense in a world where sin and death may appear to have the last word. Yet Jesus’ rising affirms that God is faithful and that the promises of God will be fulfilled. Let us live this Easter and every day as an emphatic witness to our faith in a God truly alive and in our midst.

THANK YOU FROM THE MEN’S CLUB St. Mary’s Men’s Club would like to express our appreciation for the incredible support and help we received for our 2016 Lenten Fish Dinners. Every attendance record fell as we served over 2850 dinners including two dinners that surpassed our previously unobtainable goal of 500 patrons! The assistance we received from an army of volunteers is appreciated more than words can say. From the logistics crew that reviewed inventories and placed the food orders on Sunday afternoon, to the prep crew who were in the kitchen early Thursday mornings, to the cleanup crews who stayed on Friday night, our various Parish ministries and individuals joined as one with a simple goal: pull together as a team to provide a family orientated event that reflects the pride and love all of us feel for our incredible Parish. Our secret recipes have again been hermetically sealed in the sacred mayonnaise jar and left on Funk & Wagnall's porch to wait patiently for March 3, 2017 which kicks off next year’s Lenten Fish dinners. Records are meant to be broken so we look forward to having this record last only one year!

Father of Goodness and Love, hear the prayers of this faithful community. May your presence show mercy to those who are suffering from

chronic illness, we ask you to cure our sick and physically and emotionally heal wounds. Help our hearts to be open to you and let your light shine upon those that need hope and strength. You are the Great Physician and Healer. Please keep Father Bill close to your care. As Father Bill goes through this long road to recovery help him in spirit, mind and body. Guide the medical staff in his recovery and we ask for progress each day towards full healing. Protect those who are serving our Country overseas. We ask for prayers of peace in lands stricken by war and violence. Hear the prayers of the faithful and help us to draw closer to you, Amen.
