TRANSCRIPT
April showers bring May flowers! April is traditionally the rain month. The weather is seeing its first break of Spring and the rains come. Rain means preparation is happening. Rain can be challenging for us humans but for the earth, it's refreshing, it's washing away what's unnecessary, it's supplying the earth's rivers and lakes necessary waters to prepare for the heat of summer. As the rains come in our lives, remember God's promise to us from Isaiah 55:10-11: "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth, it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it." God has made promises to us! Pray for what God has said God will do for you, your family, your community and the world. Give God thanks in advance for being true to God's word. Write it down so you can remember it when the rains of life come. I'm holding onto God's promise for Trinity to be a place of prayer and hope for our community, our city and our world! God is true to God's word! So as this season is April rain comes, let us hold on tight to God's promises!
Blessings and peace, Pastor Kelly G
A Note From The Pastor
Scripture of the Month
Genesis 9:12-19
12 God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between
me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future
generations: 13 I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a
sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 When I bring
clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, 15 I will
remember my covenant that is between me and you and every liv-
ing creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a
flood to destroy all flesh. 16 When the bow is in the clouds, I will
see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and
every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 God said
to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established
between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

Looking Ahead:
Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 15th from 10 – 11:30 am
Our theme for this year’s egg hunt is, “Sing and Shout! Jesus Lives!” We have eight egg cartons
filled with plastic eggs that need to be filled with candy or small toys. All eggs need to be re-
turned no later than Palm Sunday. We still need volunteers to help hide the eggs, help with
snacks, crafts, games and registration. Each child will leave with a goodie bag containing the
Easter Story and other activities to remind them of the true meaning of Easter.
A sign-up sheet is on the Sunday school bulletin board in the hall. Please sign-up and attend our
meeting. This is our outreach program to the community. Please help us make it a success!
Vacation Bible School: July 17th – 21st , Evening, time TBA
Our starter set has arrived. Anyone interested in helping with VBS, see the sign-up sheet on
the Sunday school bulletin board. Please sign-up even if you are unable to attend the meet-
ing. This year’s theme is: HERO CENTRAL – Discover Your Strength in God! We need
plenty of help! Sign–up and attend the meeting! See how you can use your talents to make
Vacation Bible School a fun place for children this year!

From Trustees
Dear Church Family,
As I’m sure you are aware, the doors in Fellowship Hall
are once again in need of repair. Trustee officers met
with Pastor Kelly and our Finance Committee Tuesday
evening, March 29th to discuss this ongoing prob-
lem and possible solutions. Trustees will conduct an
emergency meeting this Sunday, April 2nd at 10:30 am
in order to determine final action. Please be advised that
we will keep our Church Family informed of all pro-
gress.
A reminder from the Trustees
The safety of our Church Family, Visitors, and the
Church building and property is our priority at ALL
times. This is why we carefully inventory all keys is-
sued and complete a key inventory on a regular basis.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do
not hesitate to contact Trustee Chairs Larry Rocken-
baugh and Joel Case. You may also leave for message
or email our Trustees at any time through the church
office.
Respectfully submitted,
Claire Leidy, Trustees Recording Secretary

From The Lay Person of the Annual Conference
Spring is here and in two months I will be representing
Trinity UMC at the 233rd Session Annual Conference
of the Baltimore-Washington Conference. The theme
for 2017 is “We Are One: Connected in Covenant”.
There are 132 annual conferences around the world,
with 56 in the United States. The Baltimore-Washington
Conference, in the Northeastern Jurisdiction, is led by
Bishop LaTrelle Easterling, who was elected as a bishop
at the Northeastern Jurisdictional Conference in 2016.
Bishops often serve for two consecutive four-year
terms. Our conference has 628 churches or charges and
approximately 160,000 members. Bishop Easterling
presides over the Annual Conference Session but, as in
the General Conference, does not vote. The BWC offic-
es are located at 11711 East Market Place, Fulton, MD
20759-2594, in the Maple Lawn community of Howard
County. Conference staff includes the bishop; eight dis-
trict superintendents and their respective district admin-
istrators; regional resource people; several program or
discipleship staff; and financial/administrative
(stewardship) staff. Altogether, there are about 50 peo-
ple on the conference staff.
The Baltimore-Washington Conference is made up of
regions and districts. The BWC has four regions, and
each region has two districts, presided over by a district
superintendent. Annapolis Southern Region Annapolis
District – Rev. Evan Young Washington East District –
Rev. Rebecca Iannicelli Baltimore Region Baltimore
Metropolitan – Rev. Ed DeLong (Interim) Baltimore
Suburban – Rev. Laura Easto Washington Region Cen-
tral Maryland – Rev. JW Park (Dean of the Cabinet)
Greater Washington – Rev. Gerry Green Western Re-
gion Cumberland-Hagerstown – Rev. Conrad Link
Frederick – Rev. Edgardo Rivera Each local church and
charge belongs to a district. Most churches or charges
(two or more churches with one pastor) are presided
over by either an ordained Elder or a probationary El-
der; some smaller congregations are served by local pas-
tors or student pastors.
Who are members of annual conference? All clergy
(Elders and Deacons) hold their membership in the An-
nual Conference, not in a local church. Deaconesses and
diaconal ministers, both retired and active, are lay mem-
bers of Annual Conference. The Book of Discipline
requires an equal number of laity and clergy to be mem-
bers of the Annual Conference Session. To be a voting
member, a lay person must be elected by his or her local
church through a nomination and voting process that is
held at the annual Charge Conference. The Charge Con-
ference is to the local church what the Annual Confer-
ence Session is to the Conference; i.e., the annual busi-
ness meeting. Charge Conferences may happen more
often, but they must happen at least once a year, under
the rules of the Book of Discipline. A district superin-
tendent or her/his designee presides. The laity are mem-
bers of Annual Conference – not delegates. There are
several “at-large” members to Annual Conference, who,
by virtue of their district, conference or national posi-
tions, are also voting members of the Annual Confer-
ence.
I look forward to being your Lay Person to the Annual
Conference for 2017 from May 31 to June 2.
Yours In Christ’s Service,
Bobbie Bien
Lay Member to Annual Conference

SHRIMP FEAST” on Sunday, March 26th. On Satur-
day, April 1st, we will be attending Catonsville United
Methodist Spaghetti Supper to sell the eggs. If you are

Thrift Shop News
I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me since I took over the Thrift Shop in May of 2016. The
Thrift Shop wouldn't be a success without you. I appreciate every single person who has helped and
volunteered their time to make the thrift shop successful.
On March 29th I held the drawing for the quarter. I compiled a list and entered it into a random name picker I found
online from the ABCya.com website.
It's with great pleasure that I announce that BOBBIE BIEN has won. Thank you Bobbie for your dedication and
continued volunteerism in the Thrift Shop . I will be in touch about your $20 gift certificate.
Requests:
The Thrift Shop would appreciate donations of plain newsprint (no newspapers with ink), paper towels, tissue paper
and bubble wrap for wrapping your special purchases.
