MESAJ DE LA CONSILIUL PAROHIAL
Luna Mai aduce flori și frumusețe în viața noastră, dar cere de asemenea mai mult efort de la noi. Astfel, natura ne aduce aminte că nimeni nu poate să-și permită să înceteze să lucreze. Viața bisericii nu este nici ea diferită. Proprietatea bisericii are nevoie de reparații și îngrijire, cu dragoste. Deși donațiile de Paști au fost generoase - fapt pentru care vă mulțumim - nu izbutim să facem tot ce trebuie fără ajutorul regulat și săptămânal al fiecărui credincios.
Suntem gata să începem lucrul la noul acoperiș al sălii sociale (secția a doua, $48,000), care a fost amânat încă din anul trecut. Pe de altă parte, voluntarii lucrează în prezent la îndreptarea băncilor din grădina centenară, iar lucrul la prispa preoților din fața Școlii, este aproape gata. Între timp, aparatul de AC al casei parohiale și-a dat duhul și trebuie înlocuit. Pe lângă acestea, la sfârșitul lui August trebuie să sigilăm parcarea, pentru alte $8,000. Toate acestea sunt necesități imediate pe care le avem ca parohie. De aceea, facem un apel la credincioșii nostri să fie generoși și să-I dăruim lui Dumnezeu săptămânal!
Mântuitorul ne-a dat exemplul suprem pe Cruce. El ne-a dăruit totul. Putem oare să-L imităm dăruind și noi, cu răspundere, din darurile pe care El ni le dă? Rugăciunea noastră este ca TOȚI să răspundem cu credință și cu dragoste! Oare veți răspunde afirmativ?

MESSAGE FROM THE PARISH COUNCIL
The month of May brings flowers and beauty to our life, but it also requires more work. Thus, nature reminds us that we cannot stop taking care of things. Church life isn’t any different. The property needs lots of repairs and loving care. Certainly, we cannot do this without everyone’s help. Although the Holy Pascha donations were generous and we thank you, we cannot manage all our needs without your regular, weekly donations.
We are about to begin the work to replace the second section of the roof of our Social Hall ($48,000), that has been postponed from the last year. Our volunteers are straightening the granite benches in the Centennial Garden and the work on the clergy patio in front of the School is almost finished. The air conditioning of the rectory just expired and it needs to be replaced. In addition to these, at the end of August we must seal the church parking lot for another $8,000. All these are immediate needs we are facing. For this reason we appeal to ALL our faithful to be generous and give regularly.
The Lord gave us His example of giving on the Cross. He gave us all He had. Can we embody His spirit of giving and do our share of responsibility toward the Church? Our prayer is that All of us will respond with love. Will you please send your donations weekly?

”POCĂINȚA - O LUCRARE FĂRĂ DE SFÂRȘIT”
„BUCURIA ESTE RODUL LUCRĂRII DE POCĂINȚĂ”
- Creștinul ar trebui să aibă o stare permanent de bucurie în inimă. Cum se îm-
pacă starea de bucurie cu starea de plans pentru păcatele săvârșite?
- Zice Sf. Apostol Pavel că „roada Duhului este dragostea, bucuria,
pacea...”Galateni5:22. Dar starea de bucurie duhovnicească - căci numai aceea poate
să fie permanentă, ca rod al Duhului Sfânt - nu vine decât atunci când omul
începe să-și schimbe viața, să treacă prin această întoarcere la Dumnezeu și să se
căiască pentru ceea ce a făcut. Deci bucuria este un rod al lucrării de pocăință. Zic
Sfinții Părinți că, la început, lacrimile sunt amare, pentru că sunt pline de
remușcări și de întristare că L-am supărat pe Dumnezeu, dar, în momentul în care
omul își schimbă viața, atunci ele se schimbă în lacrimi de recunoștință înaintea
lui Dumnezeu, căci ne simțim nevrednici de dragostea lui Dumnezeu. Și atunci ele încep să se
amestece cu bucuria, dar nu poți de la început să ajungi la starea duhovnicească de bucurie.
Dacă spunem că un creștin ar trebui să se bucure, e ca și cum am spune că un creștin ar trebui să
urce Golgota și atunci va ajunge să se bucure. Dar până ajunge să urce Golgota... Vedem că și Hristos,
în drumul spre Golgota, a căzut sub cruce, zdrobit de durere și de neputință. Nu poți să spui că Hristos
se bucura când Își ducea crucea. Dimpotrivă, era într-o stare de neputință, de aceea soldații l-au silit pe
Simon Cirineul să-I ducă crucea, căci se temeau că Hristos moare până să fie răstignit. Deci trecerea
aceasta de la întristare la bucurie duhovnicească nu se întâmplă dintr-odată - este ca trecerea de la
întunericul nopții la lumina zilei, când zorii se îngemănează și lumina pătrunde tot mai mult și, încetul
cu încetul, alungă întunericul, iar soarele începe să strălucească. Exact așa și starea de păcat din suflet:
este ca întunericul, în care suntem copleșiți de deznădejde și de gânduri negative, dar lumina începe
să pătrundă ușor... Nu pătrunde dintr-odată, ci vine ca zorii, după aceea începe să se facă ziuă și după
aceea strălucește soarele. Starea de bucurie este atunci când simți mângâierea razelor dumnezeiești
asupra sufletului tău și te simți nevrednic de ele.

“MOŞII DE VARĂ”
Sâmbătă, 19 Iunie, calendarul
Ortodox consemnează “Moşii de
vară.” La ora 10 dimineața vom
avea un Parastas general sau de obşte. Vă învităm să
aduceți lista răposaţilor din familia Dvs. spre a fi incluși
în rugăciunea Bisericii. Astfel, pomenind și deci ne dând
uitării pe cei adormiți în credință, vom intra în
sărbătoarea Coborârii Duhului Sfânt cu pace sufletească
și cu bucuria comuniunii depline în Hristos.

Samaritan Woman (John 4:5-42)
5 So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob
gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from
His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His
disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink
from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked
Him, and He would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep.
Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as
well as his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever
drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water
springing up into everlasting life.” 15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” 17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her,
“You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that
you spoke truly.” 19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you
Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.” 21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when
you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we
worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and
truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The
woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to
her, “I who speak to you am He.”
The Whitened Harvest - 27 And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said,
“What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?” 28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the
men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” 30 Then they went out of the city and came to
Him. 31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” 32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not
know.” 33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?” 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do
the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold,
I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and
gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and
another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”
The Savior of the World - 39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who
testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed
there two days. 41 And many more believed because of His own word. 42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of
what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
