A Homage to the Ladies of the Church

The entire Holy Scripture is colored with examples

of great women of faith who had a great influence on

God’s plan of salvation. Among them were: Eve, Sarah,

Miriam, Deborah, Ruth, Hannah, Esther, Elizabeth and

above all, Mary, the Most Pure Virgin and Mother of our

Lord Jesus Christ. As in the Bible, our Church life is also

filled in many ways by the faith, love and toiling of our

own generation of women of faith. This was visible last

Sunday, when the Ladies Auxiliary met in their annual

meeting.

President Mariana Miron, who completed four years

of service and her team of dedicated ladies presented their

report for 2018. From the treasurer report, given by

Dorina Riscutta, it became clear that their heart was in the

right place. The Auxiliary supported the church with over

$20,000, helping us to renew the stoves, freezer and get a

new steamer. On behalf of the parish, Father Grama

thanked the outgoing officers and ALL ladies who support

our church. Then, elections followed. The newly elected

office holders took the oath to the office. Here are the

newly elected:

incoming officers and continue to bless and protect our

Omagiu Doamnelor Bisericii

Toată Sfânta Scriptură este colorată cu exemple

semnificative de femei credincioase care au avut o mare

influență în planul lui Dumnezeu pentru mântuire.

Enumerăm doar câteva: Eva, Sara, Miriam, Debora, Rut,

Ana, Estera, Elisabeta și mai ales, Preacurata Fecioara

Maria și Maica Domnului Iisus Hristos. Ca și în Biblie,

viața Bisericii este marcată în felurite feluri de credința,

iubirea și hărnicia generației noastre de femei. Acest lucru

a fost vizibil duminica trecută când Reuniunea Doamnelor

a avut adunarea anuală.

Mariana Miron, care a servit ca președintă în ultimii

patru ani și echipa sa, alcătuită din femei dedicate bisericii,

au prezentat raportul cu privire la anul trecut. Din raportul

casierei, Dra. Dorina Riscutta, a fost clar că inima lor a fost

acolo unde trebuia să fie. Reuniunea a sprijinit parohia cu

peste $20,000, contribuind la cumpărarea sobelor, a

congelatorului și a dulapului de încălzire cu aburi. Pentru

aceasta, Părintele Grama a mulțumit tuturor doamnelor, în

numele întregii parohii. S-au discutat proiectele viitoare,

iar apoi au urmat alegerile. Doamnele nou-alese au depus

jurământul de credință. Iată acum lista funcționarelor nou

alese:

Rugăm pe Domnul să binecuvinteze biserica noastră

și să reverse Har peste Har asupra celor care au slujit în

trecut, precum și peste doamnele nou alese!

Rest in Peace, Bubble!

Eleonore Valescu (84) left us for a better world. She was

the wife of our former Cantor, Mircea Valescu (Bubble)

and mother of three boys. She served in the Ladies Auxil-

iary, Parents Club and Sunday School and especially,

with her ability to type and edit, she substituted for our

Secretary. We pray for the repose of her soul and pray for

her with love. Rest in peace, dear friend! Sincere

condolences to her family and friends!

Surprize Duminicale

Ce surpriză plăcută am avut duminica trecută, când

distinsele femei ale Reuniunii Femeilor ne-au tratat cu

Langoși. Domnul să binecuvinteze pe cele ce s-au ostent

și pe cei ce s-au bucurat să le deguste! Numai prin

dragoste, jertfă și contribuții active a tuturor reușim să fim

ceea ce suntem, cu ajutorul Celui de Sus! De aceea,

chemăm pe toți iubitorii de Hristos să continue să facă

acte de generozitate către biserică!

APEL LA TOATE FEMEILE

ORTODOXE

La ședința femeilor s-a constatat că numai 29 de

femei plătesc taxa de membrie la reuniunea femeilor.

Știm că toate doamnele parohiei iubesc și ajută când

sunt solicitate, fiecare în felul ei. Totuși, rugăm și

îndemnăm pe fiecare femeie din biserica noastră să ne

ajute să aducem situația la realitate.

Vă rugăm să luați legătura cu Dna. Mihaela Hetruc,

noua casieră, și să vă plătiți taxa anuală de membrie,

care este doar $20 de persoană (18 - 65 ani) și $10 de

persoană (peste 65 ani).

WOMEN

At the Ladies Auxiliary meeting we found out that

only 29 women pay the annual membership dues.

We know that all ladies of the parish love and help

when asked, each in its own way. However, we urge

each woman in our church to help us bring the

situation to reality.

Please contact Ms. Mihaela Hetruc, the new

treasurer, and pay your annual dues, which is only

$20 per person (18-65 years) and $10 per person

(over 65).

Abbot of the Saint Gregory Palamas Monastery, will

The Greater Cleveland Council of Orthodox Clergy solicits

După cum este știut, parohia noastră organizează seri de

pește prăjit pe perioada postului mare cu scopul de a

obține fonduri pentru biserică.

Biserica este a noastră, a tuturor și trebuie să fim activi

pentru a putea înfrunta toate nevoile, așa că, vă rugăm să

vă puneți pe calendarele dumneavoastră și să ne ajutați

în perioada 8 Martie - 19 Aprilie.

Ne trebuie voluntari în zilele de Joi - între orele 9:30

am și 3 pm pentru pregătirile premergătoare și Vineri -

începând cu ora 3:30 pm și până la sfârșitul zilei

(aproximativ 10 pm), pentru pregătirea mâncării,

primirea oaspeților, servire, curățare, la casierie, la masa

de desert și la bar.

Dacă puteți ajuta, cel puțin pentru 2 ore, vă rugăm să

sunați la biroul parohial și să ne comunicați la care

departament și în ce zi.

Pentru a putea onora toate comenzile ne trebuiesc cel

puțin 40 depersoane în fiecare vineri. Doar cu

dumneavoastră putem să facem față acestui eveniment.

Saturdays. Please reffer to the calendar

and try to make parastases on Saturdays.

Înainte și în timpul Postului Mare, începând cu 2 martie,

zilele de sâmbătă sunt orânduite pentru pomenirea celor

trecuți la cele veșnice. Vedeți calendarul și, pe cât posibil,

haideți să urmăm credința noastră și să programăm

parastasele în aceste zile.
