Pastor’s Corner
Titus
Unless you are one of our lectors on Christmas Eve, you
are probably not aware that in addition to trotting out the
prophecy of Isaiah, “The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light,” and the beloved Gospel of Luke
and his decree from Emperor Augustus, we also always
read from this tiny book in the New Testament, Titus.
There he is on center stage surrounded by Isaiah and
St. Luke announcing the intention of God’s love for all
people.
So how did Titus get such top billing and who is he?
Normally, Titus gets lumped in with I and II Timothy as
one of the pastoral letters – which means most of what
he wrote had to do with church order and straightening
out false teaching. The whole book is only three short
chapters comprising some scant 46 verses.
So why does this bit part in the New Testament get so
much press on Christmas Eve?
It’s because Titus hits the nail on the head. In Chapter 2
verse 11 he says, “The grace of God has appeared,
bringing salvation to all.”
Titus sums up the entire Christmas story in just ten
words.
While Luke needs the decrees of Caesar Augustus and
angel hosts and shepherds and mangers, all Titus needs
is a couple of words. “God is here and the love of Jesus
Christ is for everyone.”
It’s short and sweet and true. And so every Christmas
Eve, we let Titus have a few moments in the pulpit. And I
think it is a very good thing!
Blessings at Christmas!
Pastor John D. Morris, Senior Pastor
Wreaths Across America
Wreaths Across America is a charity that delivers
memorial wreaths to graves, state and national
cemeteries, and veterans monuments across the
United States.
Last week, Wreaths Across America delivered
balsam wreaths to Prince of Peace for the six
veterans who are laid to rest in the Columbarium.
Visit the Columbarium in our church courtyard
and see the wreaths laid there.

Thank you to all who Gave Presents to the
Giving Tree
Five cars were packed full with 185 gifts and delivered to I Am Boundless last
Sunday. The staff were overwhelmed and so thankful for your generosity.
I am so blessed to be a member of this congregation.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
~Cathy Koenig, Giving Tree Coordinator
Thank you for your Support of Layettes for Little Ones in 2019
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the many needed contributions to the Layette Ministry this year! To all of those
who make afghans, quilts, sweaters, hats, washcloths, to those who purchase bibs, books, shampoo, body wash, and to
those who give monetary donations, you have allowed this ministry to thrive for eight years.
This spring, our drive began with the Women’s Tea Party.
In May we collected disposable diapers. At Closet Cause,
we collected more items. Finally, at the Women’s Christmas Dinner,
we collected 204 pairs of socks, with more coming every day!
This is in addition to many other items donated throughout the year.
In 2019, 188 baby kits were delivered to CHOICES, First English,
Lutheran Social Services, and Welcome Warehouse of Dublin. Since
October of 2011, 1,195 layettes have been distributed to those in
need of basic baby care items.
Peace to all and Merry Christmas.
~ Kay Crosby, Layettes for Little Ones Coordinator
Little Red Hats
Thank you! I am pleased to share that we received 202 little red hats to be distributed through
our Layettes for Little Ones program. Thank you to the generous donation of yarn and to all of
the knitters/crocheters who took the time to make the hats. Thanks for your support of this
ministry.

immigrated to this country. Jim teaches at Dublin Scioto High School and has
worked with many students who are new to America. This class, sponsored

Supplies for Emergency Response – Where and What
In preparation for natural and man-made emergency events, we have available several crucial supplies for our
response. On Sunday, December 15, Luke Seidensticker, M.D. led a class for the adult Sunday School class reviewing
emergency techniques and responses that we can use.
Your Response
In the event of a medical emergency, disaster, fire,
or violent act, first call 911 then respond with the
knowledge, skill, and ability that you have. We
have numerous medically trained
individuals in our church that will respond to a
medical emergency. Lay individuals will be
helpful by following the lead of those medically
trained and knowing the location of emergency
response supplies.
Location
Behind the Welcome Center, near the main re-
strooms and entrance to the office suite.

choir class for 2nd through 5th graders. Confirmation classes for 6th, 7th & 8th grades, and High
School youth meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. Adults and high school youth
are also invited to attend Adult Sunday School. Register online for Sunday School.
Each week your child may give a Sunday school offering to our service project, Grain of Rice project, a Kenyan
organization that provides opportunities for kids to learn, to eat a meal, to be in a safe place. Our goal is $500 for this
school year; to date we have only collected about $100. This is a great way for children to learn how their gift of money
can change people’s lives. To learn more about this project, visit the Prince of Peace bookstore where items are for sale.
