Greetings From Harrison Central School District Athletics Office

We were very excited about the results of our athletic teams in this past Winter Sports season, not just in competition but in sportsmanship and most importantly in the classroom. My first full athletic season here at Harrison provided me the opportunity to see true scholar-athletes compete at some of the highest levels. The transition to this position has been enhanced by the wonderful support of the administration, coaches, students, and community members. The accomplishments of our athletes speak to the tremendous culture Harrison has created around athletics. Thank you to the parents who spent countless hours at games, practices, and meetings to support their children. This Winter season we saw:

The HHS Varsity Wrestling team post a school record 18 wins

Both the Boys and Girls Basketball teams advanced to the Section 1 Quarterfinals before being eliminated by the #1 seeds

18 athletes earned All-League honors

12 athletes earned All-Section awards

Nine of the ten Varsity teams achieved the NYSPHSAA (New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s) Scholar-Athlete Designation - 98 students received individual recognition

Eight of Harrison’s Cheerleaders were selected as All-American and the team qualified to compete at UCA Nationals in Orlando, Florida

Two representatives at this year’s New York State Winter Track and Field Championships

Two HHS Football players selected for the prestigious Golden Dozen - Robert Donohue chosen as the evening’s student speaker

One Boys Varsity Indoor Track and Field member compete at Nationals

The Harrison Varsity, JV and LMK modified sports team are already in action for the Spring season. We invite you to come and watch a baseball or softball game at the high school or at LMK middle school or catch a boys or girls lacrosse game on the turf field at McGillicuddy Stadium. Our golf teams test their skills against local opponents and play on some of the nation’s most prestigious courses. Our boys tennis team plays some of the best teams in Section 1 and in the state of New York, and our Track and Field teams look to maintain their momentum from the Winter season to capture the League crown and participate in the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

Harrison High School is excited to announce that nine of our ten Winter Varsity teams have achieved the New

York State Public High School Athletics Association Scholar-Athlete (NYSPHSAA) designation.

To achieve this recognition, a team’s

average Grade Point Average for 75% of the entire roster must be greater than

or equal to 90.00%

Students who score a 90.00% or above on all teams will receive pins showing their accomplishments in the classroom. Harrison High School had 98 students who achieved that distinction and are listed above.
