Facts on the Norne Field • Discovered in December 1991
• Initial oil in place is 160•106
Sm3, and recoverable around 90•106 Sm3
• Start of oil production in November 1997 and gas production in 2001
• 49 wells : 3 exploration, 46 production and injection wells
• As of December 2007, cumulative oil produced is 77• 106 Sm3, or 86% of recoverable reserves, and 5•109 Sm3 of gas

What now? • Norne data base is installed at NTNU for use by NTNU,
Stanford and TU Delft. Other research groups may request data from NTNU
• Additional data from StatoilHydro may requested annually • Two PhD students at NTNU will maintain data base and
provide assistance • Several case studies will be defined, in cooperation
between NTNU, Stanford and TU Delft/TNO? • First competitive case study will be initiated in 2009
– Production and seismic data from 2006 will be hidden until participants´ results are submitted.
– History matching from the beginning i.e 1997 – 2006 for this case.
