How Chiropractic Promotes Overall Health
Health is more than what you eat–it’s about handling life with ease.
Did you know that we live our life through our nervous system?
When we have a better nervous system, we have a better life.
It’s that simple. From our ability to digest our food, enjoy a
sunset, or be delighted by a baby’s giggle, our nervous system
allows us to experience life more abundantly. If, however, your
nervous system is compromised, you’re not able to live life to
the fullest.
What Does Health Mean to You?If you were to ask someone on the street, “How do you know if you’re healthy?” you might be met with answers
that mention high energy and alertness, or maybe simply, “I just feel good.” But many rarely equate health to
function — when all of the body parts are working as designed. And yet, that’s exactly what true health is.
So instead of thinking of the word health, think about having a sense of ease. If you have ease, which is the
opposite of dis-ease, then consider yourself to have health. If there’s a lack of ease, you’re experiencing dis-ease,
and chances are, your nervous system is not functioning as it was meant to.
Benefits of Chiropractic CareEnsuring that your nervous system is free of interference through chiropractic can help you feel great. Many
patients of ours also report improvements like:
•Reduced back and neck pain
•Enhanced immune system
•Improved range of motion
•Increased function
•Heightened energy and mood
If you’d like to experience life to the fullest with a properly functioning nervous system, we invite you to contact our
practice to get your spine checked.

Recent quote from a new member when asked what drew them to the Club – “I was at a race and saw all of
these runners wearing the Snail’s uniform.”
Member SpotlightSue Sternberg
Where are you from originally and when did you move to So Cal?I am originally from the Greater Boston area. I moved to California in January 2005.
What got you started on running, when, where, etc.?A colleague at work was a runner. She had run a number of marathons and other races and I was inspired. I have been an exerciser most of my life and had done some running in the past but it didn’t stick. She encouraged me to start. I began by running on the treadmill, then outside and then she talked me into a race. I signed up to run a half marathon for my first one, in Melrose, Massachusetts. After that I was hooked.
What has been your favorite race and why?I love the Falmouth Road Race. It’s a 7 mile course in Falmouth, Ma, which is on Cape Cod. I’ve run it several times. The course is scenic with some rolling hills and has a great view of the ocean as you come to the finish. The field includes beginners to elite runners, something for everyone!
What is the coolest place you have gone for a run? It’s hard to pick one, there are so many cool and beautiful places. I love running in Boston along the Charles River, that’s very cool!
What are you training for now and how is it going?I’m just starting my training for Long Beach Half Marathon. I’m a little behind but that’s my next race.
Do you have any races that interest you?I’d be interested in running the New York Marathon.
What are your current running goals?I’d like to break 2:00 for a half marathon.
What is your best running tip?Find a friend to run with, the miles fly by.
Why do you run?I enjoy it and it supports me to be healthy. I want to be active as long as possible and running helps me to do that.
Any other hobbies or interests?I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors and reading. What do you like most about being a member of A Snail’s Pace Running Club?In addition to having people to run with, I really enjoy the friendships and camaraderie that come from being in the club. I’ve made some great friends since being a member.
