SKILL Foundation – Remand Home

• Skill Foundation has got permission from Bihar government to teach juvenile boys, who have committed crimes and are in detention centers, and to bring them to the mainstream of society.

• Skill Foundation is applying methods like Kirtan (prayers), Meditation , Music and Yoga to motivate and inspire children.

• These practices and techniques help focus and sharpen the minds of such juveniles.

• We attended a complete session and interacted with juveniles and gathered that these methods have led to good results.

SKILL Foundation – Guest Lecture• Attended one class of SKILL Foundation which meets late afternoons thrice

a week

• I learned how children of Sheikhpura village are continuing their study in spite of poor infrastructure and environment

• Students of this school come from poor families and do work like street cleaning, knitting and sewing to earn money

• I received an opportunity to give a guest lecture at one of the classes

• I talked about my school life, my city in the US, my high school and our culture

• It was truly a unique and remarkable experience particularly during Q&A session answering some very insightful questions

• The whole program and my speech was conducted in English language
