NEWS SOLOMON SYSTECH FEBRUARY 2016 www.solomon-systech.com D uring 2015, Solomon Systech has accelerated its growth momentum from 2014 by pursuing strategies to expand product and application portfolios while also enhancing market outreach. The Group managed to attain solid progress in tapping the potential of a number of high growth, high volume market segments, in particular smartphones, tablets, wearables and ESL, in terms of achieving substantial growth in unit shipments, as well as engaging international brands and developing new products. Some of its target application segments, however, faced gloomy market conditions and fluctuating customer demands. For smartphones and tablets, the Group’s TFT-LCD In-Cell touch display driver IC (TDDI), Out-Cell touch panel controller IC and MIPI display interface controller IC all managed to gain design wins with renowned international brands, further strengthening the clientele and extending market outreach, thereby boosting unit shipments. The Group has also developed a range of new products to capture the application markets with rising potential. These included a TFT-LCD display driver IC for IGZO/a-Si panels, In-Cell and On-Cell touch panel controllers, an eDP-to-MIPI display interface controller IC, and an AMOLED display driver IC. The Group has capitalized on the fast-growing wearables market to boost its growth. The Group’s PMOLED display driver IC has secured a number of design wins with leading health and fitness wristband brands which contributed significantly to the total increase in unit shipments in 2015. The Group has further expanded the application portfolio and customer base, and has also developed next-generation products. The Group’s new dot-matrix AMEPD solutions and three-pigment (red, black and white) EPD solutions have successfully captured the rising demand for Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs). The Group has also extended the application portfolio of segment-type EPD solutions to a wider range of applications, including wearables, smart cards, timepieces, etc., further expanding the revenue base. Following a substantial year-on-year surge in unit shipments in the first half of 2015, the Group’s large TFT display driver ICs for smart TVs/notebooks saw a reduction in demand in the second half due to challenging market conditions and excess inventory in specific product categories. To address this situation, the Group has been developing more advanced new products, including TFT display driver ICs for HD and FHD TVs, WQHD monitors and FHD notebooks, as well as 4k2k TVs, with a view to capturing these high-potential segments, in addition to capitalizing on the enlarged production capacity of its key customer. All in all, the year of 2015 was a year of acceleration to the Group. During 2015, Solomon Systech has accelerated its growth momentum from 2014 by pursuing strategies to expand product and application portfolios while also enhancing market

outreach.

The Group’s PMOLED display driver IC has secured a number of design wins with leading health and fitness wristband

brands which contributed significantly to the total increase in unit shipments in 2015.

With the expanded product and application portfolios and more new products in the pipeline, the Group is well positioned to move full-speed ahead to its next phase of growth.
