Through this magazine SSEC family wants to pay homage to the 23-year-old Delhi gang-rape victim, a physiotherapy student, who fought a brave battle for life for
13 days. We demanded severe punishment for the culprits and enforcement of powerful laws to control such menace in the country. Stringent action should be initiated against the culprits. The action should be a lesson to other criminals who indulge in such hei-
nous crime. We appeal that justice be done. What is happening is very sad, because such incidents happening in the 21st century shame us before the world.
Every individual should condemn such crimes and force the government to take severe action against criminals involved in them. We condemned attack on girl who
died last month at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore while undergoing treatment for the injuries she sustained following the rape and brutal assault on her by six men in a moving bus in Delhi. We pray for the peace of the departed soul. We also pray that such
incidents do not take place in future.
Homage

the greatest heresy

is sin, this is the
only sin; to say that
you are weak, or
others are weak.

Words can be weapons. Words can wound,
humiliate and inflict pain far greater than physical
violence. Words can be used to inflame passions, to
arouse anger, to declare war and to destroy. But just
as potent as they are as weapons, Words can also heal wounds and make peace. They can be soothing
to those in grief, they can offer hope to those in
despair. Indeed, well-chosen words have a power
and a beauty that can project well beyond one life-
time. Think of the great works of literature that still
enrich our lives today, centuries after they were
written.
It is sometimes hard to understand that an
encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone
can speak words that tend to rob another of the
spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the
individual who will take the time to encourage an-other.
Sapna Rajpal
Asst. Prof. (Physics)
The power of words Taking a risk is often your first step towards
success
If you don't take some risks, you won't get the chance to succeed. While you are trying, you are winning. The law of averages is on your side. The more you try, the greater your chance of succeeding. Never get discouraged. Every wrong attempt is another step forward. People that make no mistakes usually don't make anything. Make up your mind not merely to overcome a thousand obstacles, but to win in spite of a thousand defeats. Your mistakes are stepping stones to success and your installment payments to victory. You can't be a winner and be afraid to lose. Also remember: "Ship is always safe at shore, but it is not built for it." “Manzil Unhi Ko Milti Hai, Jinke Sapnoon Mein Jaan Hoti
Hai Pankh Se Kuch Nahi Hota, Hosle Se Hi Udaan Hoti Hai”
Ritu Shrivastava

Values deal with ones own principles and standards from which we
judge what is right and wrong behavior. Values in environment education must
bring in several new concepts. The development of morality is an important
aspect for the formation of good character. Today there is deterioration of val-
ues in the society. In a society, based on human values, man‘s precious re-source is his fellow men. It is teachers‘ role to foster Human. Values through
his teaching in the classroom and follow those values. To the youth the class-
room messages are love, safety, security, belonging and warmth. The difficulty
arises in deciding the way and content of morality to be taught to the student
community. The teachers in schools, colleges and universities should be ori-
ented and motivated by the orientation Courses, workshops, fieldworks, semi-
nars and extension activities for imparting value education to students.
Value education in the context of our environment is expected to
bring about a new sustainable way of life. Education, both through formal and
non-formal processes, must thus address understanding environmental, natural
and cultural values, social justice, human heritage, equitable use of resources,
managing common property resources and the causes of ecological degrada-
tion. Essentially, environmental values cannot be taught. They are inculcated
through a complex process of appreciating our environmental assets and ex-
periencing the problems caused due to our destruction of our environment.

The Truth about Failure
Failure doesn't mean you are a fail-
ure, it does mean you haven't suc-ceeded yet.
Failure doesn't mean you have ac-
complished nothing, it does mean you have learned something.
Failure doesn't mean you have been
a fool, it does mean you had a lot of faith.
Failure doesn't mean you have been
disgraced, it does mean you were will-ing to try.
Failure doesn't mean you don't have
it, it does mean you have to do some-thing in a different way.
Failure doesn't mean you are infe-
rior, it does mean you are not perfect.
Failure doesn't mean you've wasted
your life, it does mean you've got a rea-son to start afresh.
Failure doesn't mean you'll never
make it, it does mean it will take a little longer. Failure doesn't mean God has aban-doned you, it does mean God has a bet-ter idea!
