AASBO Data Collection Project• Operational since 2004-05• Implemented to provide accurate information to

state policy makers regarding questions related to school district funding and expenditures

• Provides districts with a very cost-effective tool to analyze and compare district expenditures and revenues with those of other districts (over 250 individual reports)

Deer Valley Unified School DistrictAnalysis of Classroom Dollar Report

• As an example, from the FY09 Classroom Dollar Report the DVUSD Plant Operation appears to:– Have a lower cost per square footage than the peer

group and the State– Have a lower dollar amount per pupil than the peer

group and the State– But the amount per pupil is a only slightly less on a

percentage of the total per pupil (11.0%) than the peer group (11.2%) and the State is greater yet (11.6%)

Why? Is there more to this story?
