Additions and Renovations to Abington Senior High School

• Interdisciplinary Wing and Library• The contractors completed their work on Wednesday, August 28, 2019

• The moving company, contracted by the District, moved furniture back into the classrooms on Thursday, August 29, 2019

• The Library shelves, furniture and books were in place by Saturday, August 31, 2019

• District staff arranged and cleaned furniture on Saturday, August 31, 2019

• Classes resumed on schedule Tuesday, September 3, 2019

• Lockers arrived and were put in place Tuesday evening, with installation completed Wednesday evening, September 4, 2019

• Interior block walls are continuing

• Underground sanitary and storm water piping is being installed

• Prior to the start of the school year following inspections were performed:

• Township Code Inspector for above ceiling inspections

• Township Fire Marshal for above ceiling inspections

• Township Code Inspector and Fire Marshal for occupancy inspections

• Montgomery County Health Department safety inspection

• During construction, occupied space indoor air quality testing is being performed

New Traffic Patterns Starting

Early November 2019

Weekdays 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM:

The hill between the Gym and Stadium

will be closed to all traffic.

All other times:

The hill will be one-way only, with traffic flowing

toward Susquehanna Avenue. Construction

scaffolding will be erected on the roadway.

Construction Area:

The construction area will be enclosed

with fencing.
