ABOUT US

On 19th September 1994 the foundation for the first degree college in Bhayandar was laid in

the metropolitan area of Mira - Bhayandar with the population of 8 lacs, there was a great need

of a degree college. Considering this need Mr. Rohidas Shankar Patil an active corporator took

an initiative and decided to start a degree college. Mr. Rohidas Patil, who has gained fame in

social, educational and political field, was touched by when he noticed the inconvenience

caused to the students in Mira-Bhayandar.

To start witha four storeyed Building he had to undergo many critical situations . But this lion

hearted man never took a step back and overcame all the problems and has formed beautiful

premises of Shankar Narayan College of Arts & Commerce upto degree level. Late Mr . Shankar

Narayan Patil, father of the founder Mr. Rohidas Patil has always been a great inspiration for

him. Hence when the idea to form an educational organisation arose in his mind he named it in

the memory of his late father as SHREE SHANKAR NARAYAN EDUCATION TRUST

The Trust Started the Arts and Commerce College affiliated to University of Mumbai in the year

1994- 95 with B.A. and B. Com. and the junior college from 1999-2000. Both have made steady

progress since their inception and have succeeded in getting permanent affiliation to Degree

College from the University of Mumbai. College has awarded ‘A’ grade by National Assessment

& Accreditation Council, Banglore. The College has maintained 85% result in academics.

Participation in extra curricular activities has brought recognition to the institution. The Trust

has also started MMS/MBA College in the name of “ROHIDAS PATIL INSTITUTE OF

MANAGEMENT STUDIES ”

With so much experience and success in the past years, the management started a First

Polytechnic in the name of “PRAVIN PATIL COLLEGE OF DIPLOMA ENGINEERING AND

TECHNOLOGY” which has fulfilled a long felt need for higher technical education in this area .

The Government of Maharashtra has granted permission vide G.R. No. PTI 2001 ( 182 / 02 ) TE

-2 dated 9th July 2002, DTE letter No. 2/NGP/2001/2131 dt. 23" August 2002. and AICTE

Letter No. 418 / EX/ GEG/ 2002 dated 4th July 2002 to introduce the courses. The Trust has

taken care to appoint qualified staff and provide the necessary infrastructure as per DTE &

AICTE norms.

The Pravin Patil Polytechnic is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education,

Recognised by DTE Maharashtra State and approved by A.I.C.T.E. New Delhi, provides Diploma

Courses in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Tele-Communication,

Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering leading to certificate in

Diploma by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education Mumbai.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Educational Qualification :- To be eligible for admission to the first year of diploma course in Engineering / Technology, (Semester Pattern) the candidates should have :

• Passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, or any other equivalent examination with the following subjects:-

1. General Science or Physics & Chemistry 2. Mathematics or Algebra & Geometry

3. English

• (With minimum 35 % marks)

RESERVATION FOR BACKWARD CLASS CANDIDATES

The Percentage of Seats reserved for the backward class candidate from Maharashtra State are

as per the details given in table below. The percentage of reservation are the percentages of the

sanctioned intake capacity for the course in Govt. Aided and Unaided Polytechnic. Backward

Class Candidates shall claim the category to which they belong at the time of application. If a

candidate fails to claim reservation for the backward class on the application & subsequently

claims reservation at the time of admission by producing necesary documents, such claim shall

not be considered.

PROVISION OF 15% SEATS FOR CANDIDATES PASSING SSC EXAMINATION WITH TECHNICAL / VOCATIONAL SUBJECT:

15% seats of the sanctioned intake, course wise, shall be reserved for the candidates passing Std. X examination with Technical / Vocational subjects as prescribed by the Directorate of Vocational Education Maharashtra State.

For deciding the merit of such candidates, the marks scored by the candidate in the SSC Examination, without considering the marks scored by the candidate in the Technical / Vocational subjects, shall be considered.

The seats reserved for these candidates shall have further reservation among themselves for the Backward Class categories

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

a. The admissions are carried out as per the norms and schedule framed by the DTE and

Government of Maharashtra from time to time.

b. All Candidates seeking admission to first year of diploma courses mandatory submit their online application form [CAP] with necessary documents to F. C. as per the schedule issued

by DTE.

c. As per Maharashtra Act no XXVIII of 205 80% admission are given through Centralized

Admission Process [CAP]

d. The Stages in centralized Admission process 2018-2019.

Stage 1: Fill online application form by candidate for participation in CAP. Confirm the online application form and verification document at the Facilitation Centre in person.

Stage 2: After display of Provisional Merit List on web portal, submit grievances if any at Facilitation Centre. Check the number in Final Merit List as per the category.

Stage 3: Filling up and confirmation of online option form having preferences of courses & institution before CAP Round 1(Candidates may fill-in as many choices as possible of Courses and Institutes in decreasing order of their preferences and option form once confirmed s hall be considered for allotment in CAP Ist 2nd & 3rd Round.)

Stage 4.: Check the allotted institute & course in Provisional Allotment of CAP 1st, 2nd & 3rd Round and candidates can opt to Freeze, and Non-Freeze the choice of course and institute during the CAP process before accepting the allotted seat. Report at Admission Reporting Centre for accepting the seat offered as per the CAP Ist, 2nd & 3rd Round along with the Seat Acceptance fee & Original Documents for verification. Collect the receipt of payment from the Admission Reporting Centre for future reference.

Stage 5: Reporting and confirming the Admission at the Institute as per final Allotment through CAP by showing the Seat Acceptance Fee Receipt and paying the balance Tuition & others fees in the Institute allotted.

INSTITUTE LEVEL ADMISSION

1. All candidates seeking admission to first year of diploma courses from Institute Level, they must submit their online application forms [CAP].

2. All OMS [Other than Maharashtra States] candidates can apply for Institute Level seats, they must submit their online application forms [CAP].

PAYMENT OF FEES

The Shikshan Shulk Samiti has permitted for current year Fees for First Year (2019-20) will be Rs. 30,000/-.

DIRECT ADMISSION TO SECOND YEAR

The admissions are carried out as per norms and schedule framed by the DTE and Government of Maharashtra from time to time.

All direct second year admissions are given by CAP 2019-20.

20% of the total intake shall be reserved for admission to Direct Second Year Students, who have passed HSC & passed (XII Science with vocational subject) IT I / MCVC with 35% marks.

Passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) Science or HSC Science with Vocational or HSC Science with Technical or SSC with 2 years ITI / CoE equivalent to 2 year ITI with appropriate Specialization.

They are required to produce Eligibility Certificate from the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Bandra, Mumbai-51.

ADMISSION TO SECOND & THIRD YEAR (TRANSFER CASES)

Students who have passed First Year/Second Year from other Polytechnic (Gov. Recognized, Non-Aided Polytechnic ) can also apply for transfer of their Admission to Second/Third Year Diploma Course against vacant seats. They are required to produce permission letter from Joint Director of Technical Education, Mumbai & Eligibility Certificate from the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Bandra, Mumbai.

ADMISSION TO THIRD YEAR DOUBLE DIPLOMA

Students who are awarded one diploma and wish to take Double Diploma can apply for direct

Admission to Second/Third Year Diploma Course against vacant seats. They are required to

produce Eligibility Certificate from Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Bandra

Mumbai.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

The courses in this institute have certain special features, distinct from those where in the

student is acquainted with either in school or college.

1. Courses in our polytechnic conduct a good deal of technical skill in workshop and

laboratory. Students should be regular in attending work shop, Laboratory so that they

acquire sufficient practice and complete their assignments on time.

2. In all courses here, students will be required to complete the prescribed assignment

strictly according to the schedule. Students should note that failure on their part to

complete the assignments/term work will lead to Non-Grant of term/terms. The student

will be declared as “defaulter”. The defaulting student will have to seek admissio n for the

same semester and complete the assigned term work all over again in the next academic

year. We follow the practice of progressive assessment of term - work. Students should

therefore be regular in submitting their work on time for getting full credit.

3. We follow Semester pattern according to which term - work examination are held by

M.S.B.T.E. at the end of each Semester.

4. Supplementary Examinations are also held by M.S.B.T.E. in Nov./Dec. for A.T.K.T. Subjects.

5. Our Scheme of assessment provides weightage of internal tests as sessional work to get

better results. Students performance in Periodical Tests must be good.

6. All the subjects are taught in System International Units (S. I. Units )

7. Minimum passing in each head of passing is 40 percent.

8. The medium of instruction is English.

EXAMINATION

All the examination will be conducted as per the rules and regulation framed from time to time

by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education. At the end of each Semester, there will

be Examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai.

Two Periodic tests of 25 marks are conducted at regular intervals throughout the Semester. They are inevitable part of the curriculum of polytechnic courses. Marks obtained in these tests are considered by M. S. B. T. E. while preparing examination results. Therefore all students are required to appear for these Periodical Tests without fail as and when conducted.

One skill tests of 30 marks for some subjects will be conducted during each semester.

ATTENDANCE AND SESSIONAL WORK

To be eligible for being sent up for the Board Examination the student should satisfy the following requirements.

1. The candidate must have minimum 75% attendance in each subject for theory Lectures and 100% attendance for practical R.G. 4 (D)(1)

2. Absence for one practical or one lecture will be treated absence for the whole day.

3. He/ She must not leave a class, workshop or laboratory till the end which will entitle cancellation of attendance.

4. He/ She must complete the term- work in the prescribed manner in stipulated period only.

5. He/ She must submit application for absence due to medical or any other reason
