Mr. Mayank Patel
(Mechanical Engg. 2001-2005)
I graduated my Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering at U. V. Patel College
of Engineering in 2005 with distinction.
Four years of engineering were all disciplined study for me. And I was among the toppers
of my class. I participated during these years in multiple national level technical fests and
also play vital role during college event convergence as a robotic event coordinator.
During final year project I made demo model of wind mill to elaborate how electricity is
generated through wind in more simple way. This model project was much appreciated by
senior faculties and hence kept at mechanical laboratory to taught student about
electricity generation.
I currently work as a Manager of Captive Power Plant at Essar Steel India Limited, an
Indian steel manufacture company which manufactures flat steel used in wide range of
industries such as automobile, construction, defense, white goods etc.

Dr Jaydeep Patel
(Mechanical 2004-2009)
Dr. Jaydeep Patel, who completed his B Tech in Mechanical Engineering in 2009, says
studying in U. V. Patel College of Engineering, Ganpat University, Kherva made him realize
that he was in a privileged position. "I come from a middle-class family and found myself in an
elite institution when a lot of the world around me didn't have any chance of getting an
education. An institution like UVPCE gives you a perspective that prepares you to succeed,"
he says. He also added that faculties of UVPCE are very sincere, dedicated and easily
approachable. The innovative assignments for each subject provide many opportunities to
students to come up with ideas that relate to the subject. This is an approach that I took, and I was successful is developing some good projects in M Tech and PhD.
After graduating from UVPCE, he earned an M Tech and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at
National Institute of Technology-Hamirpur (H.P) and Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University,
Gandhinagar respectively. He received awards for published papers on wind farm layout
optimization in leading international conference. After completing a PhD, He is working as a
Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering department at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum
University, Gandhinagar.

Mr Daivik Mehta
(Mechanical)
Daivik Mehta is a graduate student at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada
and research assistant at one of India's largest oil company, Indian Oil Corporation. Following the agreement signed between SFU and Indian Oil in 2014 to further
hydrogen and full cell technology research, he was one of the first two students that
were accepted into the joint post-graduate student mobility program.
Prior to attending SFU, Daivik completed his Masters in Technology in Mechanical
Engineering from IIT-Madras, one of the premier institutes for engineering in India,
and was also a Research Associate at the high performance computing lab at IIT
Gandhinagar in Gujarat. While his passions lie in the development of clean energy
technologies, Daivik is also a huge sport enthusiast, especially cricket! So much so, that he represented his university in two national cricket tournaments.
SUCCESS STORIES OF MECHANICAL AND MECHATRONICS STUDENTS
Mr. Amandeep Singh
(Mechanical 2013)
“To realize one’s destiny is a person’s only real obligation. All
things are one. When you want something; all the universe conspires
in helping you to achieve it”– Paulo Coelho
Amandeep was admitted to Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering at U. V. Patel
College of Engineering. He graduated his class of 2013 as Gold Medalist. Little did he know, he was
not just graduating one chapter of his life but starting a new chapter at the college. Yes, starting the
legacy of “BAJA SAE” at Ganpat University.
First three years of engineering were all disciplined study for Amandeep. He was the topper of his
class. He participated during these years in multiple national level technical fests and winning
couple of robotic design competitions as well. However, these winning were not to appetite of
Amandeep. He always dreamt of doing something big under the name. He started collegiate club of
Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). SAE-BAJA India every year organizes competition for self-
designed and fabricated all-terrain vehicle (ATV). The vehicle is evaluated for endurance race,
design, cost and other technical aspects. Amandeep lead a team (TEAM SHATASHVA) of 20
members and winning the Static Cost Event Award at the SAE-BAJA INDIA2013. He was also
the ATV driver and team ranked 17th overall among 120 teams at national level and 1st among 8
teams at state level.

SUCCESS STORIES OF MECHANICAL AND MECHATRONICS STUDENTS
Kartik Sampat B. Tech. ME (2014-2018)
These 4 years at UVPCE have been the most exciting days of my life both in terms of academic and extra-
curricular activities. Experienced professors, innovative curriculum, diverse elective courses and good
friends have been the key benefits of this B tech program. The infrastructure is one of the best in Gujarat. I
have been a part of the techfest Convergence for all the 4 years in a row and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I am sure these 4 years were the best years of my life.
Academics:
All faculties of Mechanical Department are very sincere, dedicated and easily approachable. A lecture plan
is made for each subject and is sincerely followed throughout the semester. If needed extra lectures are
also arranged. In a nutshell, measures are taken to make sure that the course is completed as per the syllabus.
The innovative assignments for each subject provide many opportunities to students to come up with ideas
that relate to the subject. Students can make use of these opportunities to initiate new projects and
gradually proceed with them by combining and incorporating the concepts of different subjects into it. All faculties welcome and support such initiatives.

B. Tech (Mechanical)
B. E. (Welding Technology)
After completing 12th i was admitted to LCIT but luckily in reshuffling got last seat in UVPCE (100 candidates ahead
of me) and the rest is history with the following highlights :
1. Got over Engineering design in 1st year with 7 marks grace.
2. 3rd year 2nd ranker in the Ganpat University.
3. Got Selected in Essar (my selection was announced at last) and deputed to Essar Heavy Engineering Services in Welding
Engineering Department where i met a great mentor who changed my life and i was promoted every 2nd year of my service
and retired as Manager-Welding Engineering from being GET at the Joining 2008. Mind due i also appeared and cleared 7
subjects for BE Welding Technology Examination.
4. As my employer went through a tough market condition i gave interview for the Head of Welding Technology department
and joined them immediately where my life took a progressive path where i was directly in touch with Mr. Aditya Puri the
Executive Director of ISGEC Heavy Engg Limited to get Supplier Level 2 certification from Indian railways bringing a year on
year order worth 15 Crores. I also completed my BE Welding Technology from Indian Institute of Welding.
5. Afterwards i was interviewed for the Position of Lead Welding Engineer by GE Power India Limited (5 round of interviews)
which lead me to join the one of the world’s top manufacturing company and yes the dream came true and at the latest i was
deputed for a month to Turkey to transfer technology for Fabrication of Francis runner meant for a power plant in Turkey.
Recently i also received IWE Certification from International Institute of Welding.
