How DROPS Works

• Assign specific focus groups to work key issues to conclusion as effective deliverable products.

• Meet regularly to review progress, share best practice and lessons learned, prioritise focus areas and present new technologies / services.

• DROPS Work Group members all participate, contribute and help drive the direction and deliverables of the Campaign. Each brings their own organisation’s influence and concerns to DROPS.

Sharing Lessons

Scaffold pole was dropped through gap in grating to the lower deck of platform.• A cross member on a grating was identified as a dropped object concern on 26th June and

subsequently removed with a plan was to replace in the next week. A ladder was in situ beside the gap.

• On 29th June Scaffolders were removing poles from scaffold rack & propped one against the ladder. When released from the Scaffolders grip, the pole went straight through the grating gap. Pole was 17kgs & fell approx 40 feet to the lower deck.

• Two individuals were located on the lower deck and approximately 12 feet from the drop zone. A door under the drop zone was also noted to be a thoroughfare.
