FAVORITE THINGS TO DO…After work, Jon goes home, has a beer, watches movies, eats, maybe studies for his flight class, might sit on the beach, and has a few more beers in between.

Favorite places to go…

His favorite vacation/R&R/get away spot is Key West. We always joke about how we’re going to open a bar in Key West one day, and all of his and Will’s Navy friends will work there, and all of us kids, too. It will probably end up being the one thing we follow through with. Just maybe.

I’m pretty sure Jon likes to hang out on the beach, too, now that he lives closer to it. His new apartment is only a five minute walk from the water, apparently.

Anyway, he flies in jet planes. In the last few years, Jon’s served three tours in Iraq and he’ll be going back out on tour again in January.

Most of his life is about the military. He’s spent three years in Suki, Japan. Most of the time he’s either been in Pensecola or California. He finally got to move to Oceana this month.

Last year he got me to fly out to Lemoore while he was still in California and spend my spring break with him. I had a good ime just hanging out and getting to meet his squadron.

Jon loves what he does. He’s gotten some raw deals, but he would be bored anywhere else. It really is the perfect fit for him.

With the exception of us, Jon doesn’t have a family right now. His fiancée, Tara Hart, is a B1-Bomber pilot in the Air Force. Their plans for a wedding have to keep changing based on whether or not they’re in the same country at any given point in time. So now, the plan is for them to tie the knot next October, but in reality we really just have to wait and see what happens.

Jonathan was born on ?. He is 34 years old right now. He loves me because I remind him that he’s only 18 years older than me, which really isn’t that old. He doesn’t believe me since he has less hair than our nephew. I can see how he’d come to that conclusion.

Jon is a navigator in the Navy. He signed when he was 18. They paid for him to go to college and everything. He came to Pfeiffer, but went to North Stanly for high school.

The thing is, Jon left for Officer Candidate School when I was about three. I was still small with curly blonde hair when he went away. I know that he is 34 years old, he is shorter than William but still about eight inches taller than me. His eyes are green, he loves to just chill and play video games. His best friend is a guy named Keith Sharp (call sign Shrek) that he met a few years ago. Jon’s call sign is Finch, by the way, because apparently the guys from one of his squadrons thought he looked like Finch from American Pie.

Other than what’s there to be seen and known by everybody, I don’t know anything about my brother. The cool thing is that we’re steadily fixing that. So, that’s pretty much all there is to know about my brother that I can tell you!
