What is the Programme?

The Dore Programme comprises a range of physical exercises which aim to stimulate the cerebellum in order to address the symptoms associated with dyslexia,

dyspraxia and ADHD.

Everyone is different, so each prescribed programme of twice-daily 10 minute exercises is personalised but will require commitment sustained over a period of time, usually 12-18 months.

Exercises are accessed through “myDore”, our online guidance and coaching system. We provide the equipment to carry out the exercises at home and/or at school.

About

“My daughter completed the Dore programme 7 years ago and has always been proud of her achievement. She is now taking her GCSEs (something we were told she would never do) and is a confident, independent 15 year old who is driven to achieve her goals. We are so proud of her.” Lorna

Learning Difficulties is a huge subject. It can be overwhelming for families to learn that their child has been “labelled” with dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD. They are not a reflection on intelligence, but can affect how information is processed, for example when reading and writing. They may also affect co-ordination, attention span and social skills.

Dore has worked with thousands of people who have learning difficulties associated with dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD.

Our unique approach is not another ‘coping strategy’. We offer a physical exercise initiative called the Dore Programme which is based on scientific research into how the cerebellum works. This is the part of the brain which some researchers believe is responsible for making day-to-day tasks become automatic. If the cerebellum functions inefficiently, tasks such as reading and writing can be more difficult.

Details of the scientific research which underpins the Dore Programme can be found on our websitewww.dore.co.uk.

Dore works with schools, families, adults and children throughout the UK and is the trading name of Dynevor C.I.C., a social enterprise which has owned the rights to the Dore Programme since 2009.

“We are absolutely delighted with the amazing progress Michael has made since

completing the Dore Programme, which has helped him in all aspects of life.”

Lynne and David

“Thank you to all the team at Dore. Skye has developed no end since she was

diagnosed dyslexic and completed the Dore Programme. In less than a year she has gone

from struggling at the foot of her class in most subjects to pushing the top, and in

some areas is leading the way.”

Jason

“I was really impressed by the Dore Programme from the start.

The care and understanding that were shown to our family and Will was amazing. ”

Gordon

“Grace went into year 3 unable to read. We started the Dore Programme and within

weeks she was reading road signs, cereal packets and books. We are so thankful for

the Dore Programme, the staff were so kind and helpful. She began to read and loves

reading now. She devours books.”

Rachel

“Just to let all you wonderful people at Dore and everyone who uses Dore know

that my 17 year old has just completed his course with Dore and I will never be able to

say thank you enough.”

What our customers are saying about us

Who is the Programme For?The symptoms of dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD often overlap. Dore has supported many people with such symptoms. The reported outcomes include: improved concentration, better coordination, increased self-confidence, more motivation for reading and schoolwork, improvements in reading and spelling scores, enhanced social skills and greater sporting ability. The Programme focuses on how people learn and process information. It can complement effective teaching and other traditional interventions, hence its increasing popularity as a SEN intervention within UK schools.

The Programme is suitable for:

Children (aged 7 and over): Dore recommends early intervention to maximise the potential for positive outcomes for the child’s future.

Adults: It is never too late to enrol. Many adults come to Dore as they realise their learning difficulties are negatively impacting on their professional and social lives.

Schools: The Dore Programme is being used as a SEN intervention in many schools across the UK. Some schools run the entire Programme themselves, whereas others work collaboratively with parents to facilitate the Programme. The Dore team regularly visits schools to demonstrate how the Programme works within a school setting and also holds free information events at schools on request.

How Does the Programme Work?

STEP TWO: INITIAL ASSESSMENTYou meet the Dore doctor and coach, who undertake a series of tests, explain the results and prescribe your personalised Dore Programme.
