Shenglong Oil and Gas Pipeline Inspection Technology Co., Ltd. is a professional inspection technology service company which provides pipeline in-Line inspection, pipeline external coating inspection and recovery, pipeline Cathodic Protection(CP) inspection and evaluation, pipeline remote-measuring system of Cathodic Protection(CP), pipeline inspection and evaluation of corrosion defect.

The establishment of Shenglong Inspection is based on Shanghai Hilong Petroleum Tubular Goods Research Centre and introduction of advanced inspection technology and infrastructure from cooperation with NDT System & Service. The company possesses the accreditation certificate of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) on inspection bodies and laboratories, China’s Industrial Anti-corrosion Construction Class A Qualification and Safety Certificate, and it’s also an authorized member of Failure Analysis Institution of CMES(Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society).

Shenglong Inspection has state-of-the-art PCM (Pipeline Current Mapping) Pipeline External Coating Inspection Instrument, SCM-Stray Current Measuring Instrument, Pipeline Remote-measuring System of CP and Material Inspection Laboratory. Shenglong Inspection applies the state-of-art technology and equipment of NDT Systems & Services to conduct pipeline inspection services in China. The company has specializes in ultrasonic pipeline inspection and develops its own ultrasonic inspection tools and data analysis software. 腐蚀是导致管道完整性损害的威胁之一。虽然管道通常被施以防腐层和阴极保护,但是所谓的潮湿腐蚀仍旧影响管道并导致管道壁厚减薄。腐蚀的类型多种多样,部分特别明显的现象表现为点腐蚀或者沟槽腐蚀。金属组件上由于被选择性或者有腐蚀介质而发生的腐蚀比均匀腐蚀的速度快的多。

点腐蚀特征为其腐蚀深度增长速率远大于腐蚀表面积增长速率。特别是在其未达到关键尺寸或者可能导致泄露或者破裂时必须安排进行检测。

One threat to the integrity of a pipe wall is the occurrence of corrosion. Although usually protected by coating and cathodic protection, so-called wet corrosion can affect a steel pipe and lead to wall thinning. Various forms of corrosion can be experienced and some of the more serious manifestations are pitting and channeling corrosion (i.e. chaining of pittings). Here, the metal of the pipe is attacked either selectively and/or uniformly by the corrosive medium which can lead to a component failure much more rapidly than average corrosion rates might infer.

Pittings are characterized by a strong growth in depth as compared to the surface area and therefore must be detected before reaching a critical size and causing a leak or possibly rupture.

Cracks and other types of material separations in the pipewall can have a serious effect on the integrity of a pipeline. Different types of cracks can be detected, for instance fatigue cracks due to an applied cyclic loading or stress corrosion cracking (SCC) due to a corrosive environment, critical stress and susceptible material.

裂纹和类似裂纹缺陷可能出现在制管,修建管线或管线服役期间。不考虑其来源,要在裂纹达到特定材料的临界尺寸而致使管线故障之前检测并确定其位置。真正的裂纹检测工具,如LineExplorer UC系列,提供了非常有效的管道内或焊缝区的裂纹检测,尺寸测量和定位手段。UC超声波裂纹检测器的标准配置主要用于检测轴向裂纹缺陷。Cracks and crack-like features can appear during manufacturing of the pipe, construction of the pipeline or during operational life. Irrespective of its origin, it is of great importance to detect and locate a crack before it can grow to reach a material-specific critical size after which the pipeline will fail. True crack inspection tools, such as the LineExplorer UC range, provide an effective means to detect, size and locate cracks in the pipe wall or the weld zone. The standard configuration of the LineExplorer UC is primarily designed for cracks orientated in an axial direction (along the pipe axis).

The LineExplorer UC operates in a liquid environment such as crude oil or product pipelines. The liquid serves as the coupling medium for the ultrasonic pulses. The tools can also be used in a gas pipeline, by applying a suitable liquid batch.

Crack inspection is performed in the pulse-echo mode using shear waves with a propagation angle of approx. 45° in the pipe wall. Due to its reliability and accuracy, this technique is well known in non-destructive testing as a standard technique of ultrasonic crack inspection. The principle used is illustrated in Figure 3.

LineExplorer UCc:Special Configuration for Circumferential CracksThe LineExplorer UCc is a special configuration of the crack detection tool offered by NDT Systems & Services. It consists of the modular LineExplorer UC and a specially designed sensor carrier,where the ultrasound transducers are arranged in axial direction in order to detect and size circumferential cracks and crack-like features. The tool and the associated data analysis software are optimized for the detection and sizing of flaws in and around the girth weld of a pipeline. This special configuration also includes all other technical advantages of the LineExplorer UC fleet.

Usually, the major stress acting in the wall of a pipeline are hoop stresses induced by the internal pressure present during operation. For this reason cracks that might potentially appear in the steel wall are usually oriented in an axial direction, along the length of the line. However, it is possible that the pipeline may be subject to additional stress, such as bending stress due to subsidence (e.g. offshore or in mining areas). Resulting axial stresses in the pipe wall can act as a driving force for circumferentially orientated cracks, especially in the vicinity of the girth weld and the associated heat affected zone.
