Sunho - you are allowed to sit 8 distinct exam in a calendar year. If youenter 4 exams in one session, sitting only 1, it would be consider that youhave sat 4 distinct exams. You could resit those exams you failed to attendand another 4 distinct exams within the year.

If it's studytime that you are worried about, I think that anyone would need to thinkover how close they had come to passing - if you only failed by a smallmargin, it's better to retake quickly after some careful revision, rather thanrisk forgetting what you knew first time round.
