the acquisition of knowledge and skills through mediated information and instruction, encompassing all technologies and other forms of learning at a distance.

Bringing people together for online education and/or training reduces or eliminates time away from the job, rising travel costs & the high cost of maintaining centralized training facilities.

Introductionto Distance Learning

There are several mediums used for distance learning - satellite broadcasts, multi-point video- conferencing, etc., the evolution of the Internet, coupled with technologies such as audio streaming, and in particular, “chat” technology, make it the most attractive and potentially effective resource for distance learning today.

Distance learning using chat and Bulletin Board technology allows organizations to train more people more quickly. This ensures a higher degree of consistency and quality across borders and time zones, and reduces the cost of distributing learning material to remote sites.
