Description Backhaul links are high capacity, point-to-point links with data rates up to 800 Mbps. Typical applica-tions are data, video and/or voice.
The Access Point site is the location where data is aggregated from multiple remote sites. Many times the SCADA head end or host computers are located here. It usually has a tower to maxi-mize antenna eleva-tion and coverage.
The repeater is used to provide coverage to remote sites that are obscured by physical obstructions such as hills and buildings.
The remote site con-tains the PLC, RTU or similar equipment that collects the measure-ments that are used by the central com-puter. Typical remote sites are wellheads, transformers and capacitor banks.
A mobile remote is typically installed on a service vehicle such as maintenance truck, police car, ambulance, fire truck, or cranes.

MDS ClearWave™ antennas feature a smaller physical size, which
means less wind loading, and higher wind and ice survival ratings.
ClearWave antennas can support masts up to 2.5 inches, have an
increased gain, and extended warranties. Internally driven elements
improve antennas performance, and a field-replaceable integral feed
line makes the antenna more secure and resistant to damage.

This DC to 1000 MHz Lightning arrestor provides ideal protection for general radio use and single transmitter applications. It has
multi-strike capability with low strike throughput energy. Flange mount and bulkhead mounting options are available. This arrestor
has N female connectors on both the protection side and surge side.
Lightning Arrestors
It’s been said that lightning strikes are rare; certainly that lightning never strikes the same place twice. Right or wrong, lightning is a
fact of life and a companion of many storms. The best course of action is preparation, because you could be playing with fire. Protect
your investment with proven lightning arrestors from GE MDS. These arrestors will draw current away from your precious system,
and can handle the immense current brought on by multiple strikes, because you never know when or where it will strike.
