Training Program

• 2 years basic training (PGY1 & 2)• 1 year provisional training (PGY3)• Minimum 4 years advanced training

– Early phase: first 12 months– Late phase: last 18 months

Eligibility criteria

• Successful completion of a medical degree• Successful completion of 24 months pre-

vocational training– Complete “Annual Record of Training – Basic

Training” Form• Current general registration as a medical

practitioner in Australia or New Zealand

Applying to college

• Meet eligibility criteria• ‘Training Agreement’ meeting with DEMT &

another FACEM• Complete forms:

– Application for Trainee Registration – Verification of Completion Form – Training Agreement Form

• Registration fee

“From February 2, 2015 all training must be entered on or before the start date of the placement. Training placements will no longer be backdated. The Provisional Training start date for new trainees will be the date the completed application is processed by the training team.”
