Background of Project

“The Survey on Energy Saving by IT” was launched under contract from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as part of the Asia Knowledge Economy Initiative, with the aim of reducing energy consumption in Asia.

A future-oriented cooperative project to build an advanced knowledge-economy zone based on Japan’s experience and know-how

Asia Knowledge Economy Initiative Launched in 2009

The Survey on Energy Saving by IT is a practical project to enhance the use of IT in economic activities. To help reduce energy

consumption in Asia. 2009: The project started with four

companies. 2010: Participants increased to

eight. 2011: A consortium was formed. 2012: Four companies undertook

surveys mainly in Malaysia.
