ACI – The Financial Markets Association

ACI is a leading, global association of wholesale financial market professionals . ACI counts some 13,000 international members from more than 60 countries . It is headquartered in Paris, France .

Members of ACI are in large part engaged within the financial trading or sales environment in the global financial markets representing the Foreign Exchange, Interest Rate Products and other Securities, Banknotes & Bullions, Precious Metals and Commodities and associated Derivatives .

ACI contributes to the market development through its code of conduct, the “Model Code”, which is market practice in many countries, as well as by offering an examination & certification programme . The ACI Global Education Centre is based at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in Frankfurt, Germany .

Many national Forex Associations are members of ACI . They represent a huge global network for their individual memberships . Each year, one of the ACI country members hosts the ACI World Congress which provides an international networking platform for our individual members .

ACI – The Financial Markets Association and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management collaborate on managing the quality of ACI’s Suite of Exams supported by different ACI boards and committees as well as the ACI training community .

Recognition

The ACI Suite of Exams is recognised by regulators and central banks, as well as by many banks and financial institutions all over the world . Recognition comes in different ways . In some countries, the ACI exams are officially accredited, e .g . by the FSA in the UK, the DSI Dutch Securities Institute or the CBSL . In other countries, the exams are officially endorsed by the regulator, e .g . in Switzerland or they are simply requested by financial institutions as a requirement to work in a dealing room .

ACI Suite of Examinations

The aci dealing certificate is a foundation programme for new entrants to the dealing room . It covers basic interest rate calculations, cash money markets, foreign exchange, forward-forwards, FRAs, money market futures & swaps, options, ALM, principles of risk and the Model Code .

The aci operations certificate is an education programme for treasury operations staff and provides a front to end treasury view . It covers overall financial market topics: deal capture, trade entry and confirmations, settlement, netting and clearing, reconciliations and investigations, treasury systems and data management, risk management, controls, compliance and documentation, FX best practices operations of the Model Code as well as product knowledge in foreign exchange, money market, derivatives, short term bonds and notes .

The aci diploma builds on the ACI Dealing Certificate and ensures that candidates have a good practical knowledge of the foreign exchange and money markets, of the linkages that exist between the different markets and of the concepts used in managing the risks in these markets . It covers foreign exchange, money markets, fixed income, derivatives, market analysis and risk management . Candidates who have successfully passed the ACI Operations exam can also register for the ACI Diploma .
