http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYno85t1YmIAction ResearchAs you can see on the video, action research is the investigation used by teachers which consist in looking at yourself in practice, collecting data, analyzing that data and know what you can change to improve your practice in class.Action Research ProcessAction research process has 5 steps1.- Selecting an area: you have to choose an area of interest, be focus on students and the effects of your practice on the students2.- Collecting data: study the data you got from your practice in class3.- Organizing data: arrange data by charts, table, etc. organize the information you got from your class to analyze it.

Action Research Process4.- Analysing data: you have to see what is good and what is wrong in your practice and determine priorities to change5.- Taking action: select the best opinions or ideas for action, implementsome actions inmediately and check what changes are the best to select.Action Research ProjectsStudy about correcting grammarThis is a project from Singapore two English teachers.1.- Selecting an area: the area selected for this proyect was grammar correction2.- Collecting data: both teachers were observed and tape-recorded while teaching, collected writing samples of students, there were students and teachers interviews. 3.- Organizing data: the tape-recorder data was arrange and transcribed4.- Analyzing data: the data show that both teachers correct all grammatical errors and inmediately of the students,5.- Taking action: selective correction is the correct option, correction must take some time because learners lose motivation if you correct them the whole time. Project 2A science teacher of middle school from North Florida compared two gorups to discover how he could make his class more interesting.1.- selecting an area: the area selected was the interest of students in the class to improve it.2.- collecting data: the data was collected comparing the tape-recorders of the groups studied.
