In Loving MemoryMelvin Criddle born on June 28, 1954 in Dallas, Texas. He went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2018 after his battle with cancer. Born to parents Willard and Pauline Criddle, Melvin grew up in the Highland Hills area and graduated from David W. Carter High School. Melvin prided himself on living a simple yet very productive life. His generous heart, caring spirit, delightful smile, and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure others were taken care of on a consistent basis speaks to his Godly spirit.

Melvin worked countless years for DISD, specifically at Faith Family Academy. He was passionate and very meticulous about his work as a Janitor. His attention to detail and extreme passion for serving others allowed him to sustain a long and healthy career for decades.

In his free time, Melvin was an avid sports fan; he enjoyed multiple sports and was considered to be a sports guru by many.

A Message from Your Sister

My dear brother Melvin, it is hard to describe my feelings using words. My heart is hurting right now and it will never truly heal. I guess the pain lessens with time and

space. You and Shirley are my biggest cheerleaders and I thank you both for that. Mel-vin, you showed and taught me a lot of things. I know you were annoyed when I used

to follow you and Shirley around. I think I was the youngest child ever at age 7 to know Marvin Gaye, Four Tops, The Temptations, etc. lyrics because of you. As a little kid, I was proud and happy to see you and your friends singing and dancing mimicking The Temptations. Wow, you taught me so much wisdom. I am proud and happy to be your little sis. When you think of me while you’re in heaven, think of how much you meant

to me. I really don’t want to be alone. I need my brother and sister, but we will all meet again.

-Your little sis, Vanessa.

Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Willard Criddle, and sister, Shirley Criddle. He is survived by his children: Damon Price, Tracy Criddle, and Jermain Pipkins (Jacquelyn); mother, Pauline Criddle; sister, Vanessa Criddle; grandchildren, Jalen, Javon, Jada, Diamond, Damon Jr., Dejau, Jayvin, Asia, and Trayveion; nieces and nephews, Kenneth, Jazz, and Briana; and a host of other extended friends and family.

A special thanks goes to Alonia Agent for caring for Melvin around the clock throughout his battle everyday for the past year. Her selfless heart and determined spirit to ensure he was cared for at a high level did not go unnoticed. The family is very appreciative.

Most importantly, Melvin was a Christian as he accepted Christ early in life and reaffirmed his acceptance of Christ later in life. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now in the arms of the Father while enjoying everlasting life.

A Message from Your Sons

A father’s love, passion, support, valuable lessons, and sound advice are irreplaceable. We are forever grateful for the laughs, unconditional love, and resilience you displayed

throughout your life. We will always cherish your meek spirit, hard work ethic, and wisdom. You impacted many lives throughout your 64 years of life here on earth. We are comforted in knowing that you are at peace and no longer suffering. You now have eternal life in the spirit, although we are saddened to see you go, we understand that

you are in a place where you are rejoicing in the riches of the Lord. Well done, Father, well done.

-Damon, Tracy, and Jermain
