Please welcome Fr. Benedict Wonganant, Parochial Administrator. Fr. Ben will take responsibility for

St. David of Wales Parish on July 1st.

Please visit our parish website at StDavidOfWales.church to read about Fr. Ben. Bishop Barber has made a series of new appointments in the diocese and has asked me to serve St. Anthony—St. Mary Help of Christians Parish in Oakland beginning July 1st. Transitions are not easy, but as we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord into Heaven we know that they are necessary to reach our ultimate goal.

Congratulations to the Class of 2019. The St David School 8th Grade Baccalaureate Mass will be on Friday, June 7th, at 8:15 a.m., and graduation at 7 p.m. in the Church.

Congratulations also to Fr John Pietruszka, Fr Javier Ramirez and Fr Mark Ruiz who were ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Oakland on Friday May 31st.

Fr John E Direen, Pastor

He attended St. Mary’s High School in Berkeley. From there he studied engineering at Santa Clara University before joining Maryknoll in 1955. He has done overseas mission work in Guatemala, Honduras and in various U.S. loca-tions. In 1999 he volunteered to teach English in a public university in mainland China. He presently resides at the Maryknoll Residence in Los Altos, CA. Maryknoll’s mission is to witness God’s Word among the peoples and cultures of foreign lands. Maryknollers share the Gospel, not in words alone, but in practical and concrete actions: by feeding the hungry, clothing the na-ked, giving shelter to the homeless, comforting the op-pressed. Maryknoll depends entirely upon the interest, prayers and support of its friends. You will be invited to learn more about Maryknoll through the Maryknoll and Revista Maryknoll magazines. (Maryknoll will not share your name, address and telephone number with any other organization.) While at the parish, Fr. Bob will be happy to talk with any person who is interested in learning more about mis-sion life or perhaps becoming an overseas missioner.

SCHOOL EVENTS AND NEWS (www.StDavidSchool.org) (510-232-2283) (Willows Day Care 510-232-2343)

St. David of Wales Church & School is pleased to officially announce Mr. Kenneth Farr as the Principal of

St. David School beginning July 1st!

Mr. Farr in First Grade and now as Principal. A Quick Note from Kenneth! Hello Everyone! I am extremely happy, excited, and grateful that the St. David community has shown so much support throughout the process to arrive here. I am so ex-cited to work with each of the faculty and staff members, parents, students, alumni, parishioners, and so many others to ensure the success of St. David School. Being in the St. David community for the last 21 years and having graduated from St. David School has provided me a sense of knowledge of who we are here, and what we stand for. This school and parish have such rich history, and so many loving memories that so many people in our community hold in their hearts. My goal is to ensure that those factors are instilled in our current students, as well as faculty and staff members. I plan to work as hard as possible to continue upholding the safe, “family style” community that I experienced here as a student, teacher and Vice Principal. Additionally, I plan to see to it that our students are receiving a beneficial and quality education that will prepare them to succeed. Again, I am so appreciative of the continued support I have received. Please pray for me, all our community members, and St. David School as a whole, as we all embark on this journey together. Blessings, Kenneth Farr
