Let each breath be a reminder that you are still here, you are still alive, and you are still capable of continuing to do amazing things with this life.
Adam Whiting is a full-time traveling yoga teacher (E-RYT 200) based in Charlotte, North Carolina where he teaches packed classes and sold-out workshops in studios throughout the city and beyond. Adam credits his 10-year personal yoga and meditation practice with alleviating the debilitating symptoms of his post-9/11 PTSD and anxiety disorder. His hope is to share this transformational practice with as many students as possible. As a voracious student of yogic theory and practice, Adam has studied and practiced with Rod Stryker, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, Tiffany Cruikshank, Dice Iida-Klein, Briohny Smyth and Baron Baptiste. The resulting culmination of his diverse yoga study is a teaching style that artfully blends anatomical precision with powerful, energetic emotion and yogic tradition. In 2013, Adam traveled to India with Yogarupa Rod Stryker to witness and participate in the world’s largest religious pilgrimage, the Kumbha Mela. While there, he was initiated into Styker’s Para Yoga lineage and is honored to call Yogarupa his teacher. Adam loves the playfulness and creative freedom found in crafting an intelligently sequenced vinyasa flow class. When he’s not leading a meditation, you can find him cracking jokes and calling poses to the soundtrack of an upbeat, energetic playlist in his challenging but empowering vinyasa flow classes. Adam is also partial to breaking down and inverting the flow with a focus on advanced arm balances and inversions. Watch a video of Arm Balances and Inversions with Adam Whiting to see why he is so passionate about practicing and teaching these poses. Off the mat, Adam teaches music and works with Playing for Others, a non-profit organization that empowers teens through the arts. He is also an ambassador at lululemon Southpark and the founder of Big Horizon Yoga where he curates creative outdoor yoga experiences to raise money for charitable causes.
Workshops & Events
Big Horizon Yoga joined forces with Discovery Place in Charlotte to bring an all-‐levels vinyasa class inside of the Van Gogh Alive exhibit. The event was so successful that after selling out the first evening, an encore event was scheduled. Both events sold out and raised enough money to bring in 120 homeless children into the Discovery Place to ignite their imagination and offer them hope for the future.

Off-‐Center brings asymmetrical asana to a whole new level. We learn to find balance and calm in any situation as we flip and flow our way through some not-‐so-‐familiar poses. We move through standard inversions and arm-‐balance, and then learn how to add asymmetry to continually challenge ourselves while keeping a light heart and a playful spirit.

Advancing Your Inverted Flow takes inversion workshops to the next level. After reaffirming the foundations of a safe and powerful inverted practice, we investigate the endless possibilities of integrating those inversions into a seamless flow.
