* What is the backup size, run duration, frequency?

* Is the server on a reboot schedule?

* Should anything be excluded, ex; a database?

Click the next to Tivoli Storage Manager to display the menu options.

The change control will specify which Domain Name to select. For the example click the WINNT icon.

In the event the node is a UNIX client (such as a server name like cvuxeq1), select AIX.

Click the arrow next to Client Nodes.

The Client Nodes list will appear at the bottom of the same page.

From the drop down box trace down and click Create a Client Node.

In the Create a Client Node task pane there will be four steps to complete:

General:

The Name field will be the new server node being added. In this example cv2ktest node will be created.

Contact information: The tech support person requesting the node. The name will be on the change control.

Web Address: the default setting is: http://myclient.mycompany.com:1581

The URL would be changed to http://cv2ktest.corp.cvpsnet.net:1581 Note: The server name is only an example.

When creating nodes, all Web addresses will have the same syntax except for the server name.

Test the newly created server icon, turning it red or green, by running the Unicenter commands run as described below.

Also on the CV2K3TNG01 server open the Unicenter console and click the Set Icon Red button (Critical)

The following script will appear in the command box:

setstat -R CV2K3TNG01 -C TivoliBkup -N ****_bkup Critical and Enter to send the command.

**Note: The server name must be entered in CAPS in place of the ****.

Also, there is a space between the TivoliBkup and the -N parameters.

Highlight the command and hit Enter.

If the above command to set the icon to Critical status was successful, a Unicenter message will appear verifying the

node is Critical and the Tivoli Backup’s icon (CV2KTEST) should be Red.

From the Console click the Set Icon Green button.

The following script will appear in the command box:

setstat -R CV2K3TNG01 -C TivoliBkup -N ****_bkup Normal and Enter to send the command.
