Teaching Tips:
The goal of these games is to help kids become more fluent in making 100 and then able to use that as a strategy when adding more difficult numbers. Can You Make 100? Board Games: These low prep games challenge kids to find the value needed to make 100. The first board only includes whole tens (such as 40). The second level has more challenging values (such as 58) to help them think of 100 as 90 and 10. Color and black and white versions are included for each game. Add ‘Em Up Chal lenge: This game is meant to help kids become more confident adding tens and using strategies like making 100. It’s also designed to help deepen their understanding of regrouping when adding 2-3 digit numbers. If multiple kids are playing you may need to print 2 sets of number cards. They can then challenge each other to get the highest score. If you’d rather use this as a independent activity, they can disregard the last step of adding up the total. You may also want to specify that if they roll a 1 they have to roll again (since there won’t be anything to add).
Enjoy! J

Can You Make 100?
Directions: Place game pieces at start. Roll a die and move that number of spaces. You must then state the number needed to make 100 with the value on that space. If you state the right number, you can stay on that space. Otherwise, you must go back to your previous space. The first player to
reach finish and correctly answer the last problem wins!
