• Adelie penguins are the most common penguins. They have sharp and pointy feathers.
• They have white rings around each eye, white stomachs and black backs. Adelie penguins are 11 inches tall. They weigh 8 or 9 pounds. The top of their head is called a crown.
• No penguin breeds further south then the Adelie penguin. Colonies very in size and can have 400 or 40,000 penguins. Penguins like to live together.
• A baby penguin is called a chick. It takes at least two months to hatch. They keep their babies warm in a pouch.
• They take turns in the middle of the huddle to keep warm. They still walk when there is a blizzard outside.
