A set of twins for the 3rd Cruise Center in Hamburg
Hamburg – Germany
CGH, a subsidiary of Hamburg Port Authority, in cooperation with Hamburg Airport,
contracted ADELTE to supply two custom-designed SPBBs to the new Cruise Center
Steinwerder in order to accommodate new-generation cruise vessels. Right in the heart
of the port, the new terminal building will have separate sections for arriving and
departing passengers, both connected to ADELTE’s SPBBs which will guarantee
flexible and fast boarding operations for 8,000 cruise guests a day. For this project,
ADELTE’s engineers designed an innovative docking ramp which allows passenger
embarkation and disembarkation to cruise ships doors below quay level. This is
ADELTE’s second project in Hamburg; a KRONUS type boarding bridge is in perfect
operation at Cruise Center Altona since 2010.
Smoothly disembarking for a port in Porto
ADELTE recently installed its first Passenger Boarding Bridge (SPBB) in the port
of Leixões, thus fulfilling the contract awarded in 2014 by the Administracao dos
Portos do Douro e Leixões (APDL). The sophisticated HYDRA model SPBB
consists of two tunnels, each measuring 26 meters in length, and an innovative
docking cabin capable of serving mega cruise ships at quay level. The system
connects with the ultra-modern and spectacular new cruise terminal via an
elevated walkway and ensures optimum operating efficiency and total comfort
and safety for passengers, including those with reduced mobility.Leixões – Portugal

In the summer of 2014, Mai Elmar, Executive Director,
and Cees Scherpenisse, Terminal Manager of Cruise
Port Rotterdam officially received and inaugurated a
new KRONUS boarding bridge at its renovated cruise
terminal. ADELTE designed, manufactured and
delivered the system in a record time to assure
boarding operations of the Oasis of the Seas when it
arrived in Rotterdam. The SPBB was commissioned in
cooperation with consultancy Deerns and this new
system includes the latest innovations and cutting-edge
technology patented by ADELTE, and is perfectly
adapted to the needs of the popular and growing
Cruise Port Rotterdam.

ADELTE delivered and installed a fourth SPBB at Singapore’s Marina Bay
Cruise Terminal. Contracted by SATS – CREUERS, this new SEDNA unit joins
the other three SEDNA SPBBs operating in Singapore since 2012. The Cruise
Terminal has now reached its optimum embarking and disembarking
capacity. Thus, ADELTE's full set of SPBBs provides clearance for continuous
truck, emergency, supplies and equipment traffic on the berths and at the
same time rapidly expedites boarding and disembarking operations, as
passengers can go from ship to kerbside in just 15 minutes.

ADELTE installed a new Passenger Boarding Bridge at Cruise Terminal 2 in the
port of Savona in 2014. Commissioned by leading Italian cruise company
Costa Crociere, the SPBB was specially designed to service the Diadema,
Costa Crociere’s newest ship which has overhanging lifeboats. The unique
design of the SPBB allows it to travel on rails along the whole length of the
terminal building, while ensuring continuous traffic flow on the quay. Including
this unit, Costa Crociere has received a total of six ADELTE SPBBs for its
cruise terminals in Italy and Spain.

of this successful project, Balearia awarded ADELTE a contract to supply a
second boarding bridge. The new system will connect to the same fixed
elevated walkway but will be a HYDRA model with a three-section
telescopic cabin ramp in order to adapt to the narrow quay of the second
docking position. The PEGASUS SPBB, designed, manufactured and installed by

ADELTE’s first SPBB project in Poland contracted by the construction
company BUDIMEX has been successfully completed. The HYDRA
boarding bridge is ready to dock ferries coming from Ystad in Sweden
on the new berth of the port of Swinoujscie. This unconventional
SPBB is perfectly adapted to the unique configuration of the port,
enabling passengers to transit safely and comfortably from an
exceptionally high elevated walkway to the doors of the ferry ships.
With tunnels measuring 3.6 m wide, the HYDRA SPBB will improve
the terminal’s logistics, providing enough capacity to absorb large
passenger flows while ensuring uninterrupted quayside traffic.

ADELTE delivered two cutting-edge THALASSA boarding bridges at the ferry terminals of
Ullapool (mainland) and Stornoway (Isle of Lewis). The two units ensure a smooth, safe and
secure boarding experience for all passengers choosing the ferry crossing between the two ports.
Both systems are equipped with ADELTE’s active cabin which is able to automatically follow the
ship’s movements and safely undock in case of an emergency. On top of that, the new SPBBs
have the ability to service at dock level, absorb big tidal variations and operate with very high
service winds. The projects were perfectly concluded in cooperation with Ullapool Harbour Trust,
CMAL Assets and Royal Haskoning DHV in Ullapool and with BAM Nuttall, Stornoway Port
Authority and URS in Stornoway.
