It was a dream in 2010 when construction of the Miami Marlins stadium was just beginning. Today, that dream has become a reality. Adonel Concrete was proud to have been selected to provide concrete to one of our community’s most anticipated projects.

“A strong foundation is a good thing for any new project,” said Luis Garcia, president of Adonel Concrete. “We were honored to be part of the construction of the stadium’s four parking garages”

Adonel-Betonex is supplying concrete for two major hotel projects in Port-au-Prince. The 4-star Karibe Hotel & Spa, freshly renovated since the 2010 earthquake, is adding 100 rooms. Adonel-Betonex also is providing product for a new Best Western hotel in the city. “Both projects involve new construction conceptsdeveloped after the earthquake and requiretop quality concrete,” according to Adonel-Betonex CEO Luis Garcia.

The company also has contracts with the United Nations, the Haitian government,non-government organizations and others to build shelters, new hotels, schools and, most recently, a 6,000 unit residential project. Adonel-Betonex is now the largestready mix concrete company in Haiti.

It was just 18 months ago that AdonelConcrete embarked on its most ambitiousexpansion to date when it entered into apartnership with Betonex, a Haiti-based concrete company. The primary focus of the partnership was to provide immediate

assistance to the earthquake-damagedportions of Port-au-Prince and its surrounding areas.

According to Adonelpresident Luis Garcia, the two companies determined that theycould better help Haiti recover from the terrible damage by working together.

“When we partnered with Betonex theywere an established, quality company thatused modern concrete products and deliverysystems,” said Garcia. “Their managementand technical people were tops, too.”

In October of 2010, Adonel respondedimmediately to the crisis dispatching 30 ofits ready-mix trucks to Haiti, adding to theBetonex fleet of 10, and also shipping a mobile cement plant. Adonel-Betonex has equipment for difficult installations, produces its own gravel and sand, uses a

computer-controlled ready-mix facility andmaintains a testing laboratory. Garcia andBetonex president Stephane LeRouge metthrough a mutual friend, then decided to“make something happen” according toLeRouge. “This new partnership is aboutbuilding relationships for a new challenge, the recovery effort in Haiti.” Garcia servesas CEO and LeRouge as president of theAdonel-Betonex group.
