The CDA is the most recognized child care credential in the United States. It is nationally transferable and is considered to be a key credential in the early childhood education profession. Students in the CDA program at Central Tech follow the Pathway to National Credential. The CDA program is a comprehensive 150-hour curriculum that provides 10 units of CDA training on the Sapulpa campus. This program prepares child care providers for the National CDA Credential awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition. This is a hybrid class. Students spend one night a week in class and the other night at home. Ask for details.

Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

CMA The CMA program is a training course designed for CNAs involved with the administration or distribution of medications. CMAs work with residents or clients in a long term care facility, a facility for developmentally disabled, residential or adult day care facility. Must have current LTC certification in good standing with OSDH. Must also have at least six months work experience as a certified nurse aide.

Hunter SafetyHunter Safety is a FREE eight hour course provided by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and is required to hunt any type of wildlife in Oklahoma. This course covers a variety of topics including firearm safety, wildlife identification, wildlife conservation and management, survival, archery, muzzle loading and hunter responsibility. Anyone under the age of 30 as of Nov.1, 2013, is required to have a Hunter Education Certification to buy a hunting license. Anyone may attend a Hunter Safety classroom course, but only students age 10 and older will be eligible to test for certification.

Industrial Maintenance Safety, Health and Work Practices Introduction to occupational safety, health and environmental practices, and associated equipment including: safety mindset and attitude, personal safety equipment, general safety policies and procedures, hazards communications, emergency response, first aid and CPR, industrial hygiene, exposure monitoring, and environmental compliance. DC Electricity & ElectronicsAn introductory course in basic electricity including electrical properties of materials, units, basic electrical laws and theorems, and electrical circuits and components. AC Electricity & Electronics Introduction to alternating current electricity: A study of the characteristics of sine wave including the amplitude, frequency period, and phase relationships analyzing AC circuits by use of AC network theorems, resonant circuits, and filter circuits. Industrial Motor Control This course has been developed to provide a working knowledge and understanding of the operating principles, applications and troubleshooting of electromechanical motor control systems. Programmable ControlThis is a study of programmable controllers as they relate to the control of automated systems. Included is a study of the memory system and I/O interaction, specifications, wiring logic concepts, number systems and codes, the instruction set, ladder logic programming, and application problems.Sap 4/28-6/7 36 TTh 6:00p-9:00p $125

The Industrial Maintenance Program offers a sequence of courses designed to prepare individuals for employment in various manufacturing environments. While individuals are encouraged to complete the entire sequence of courses and earn an Industrial Maintenance Certificate, a course may be taken as an individual stand alone course.

After completion of the career track, students will be certified in forklift, bridge crane, AC electricity, DC electricity and will finish with the Industrial Maintenance Certificate. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics, the starting salary for individuals with this certification is $22 an hour.

FAQs for Adult Education“Is there an entrance exam for adult education classes?”No, there is not an exam necessary to enter a class, but some classes do require prerequisites. Prerequisites are listed in the class descriptions.

“Is financial aid available?”We do not provide financial aid, but we will try to set up a payment plan if necessary. We encourage students to seek needed assistance from Workforce, Vocational Rehab, or Native American tribes who may help pay for classes. Welding and EMT students may qualify for the CHOICES scholarship.

“Will FAFSA pay for class?”No.

“Will Pell Grants pay for evening classes?”No, Central Tech adult evening classes do not qualify for the Pell Grant.

“Will the CHOICES scholarship pay for my class?”CHOICES Scholarships are for full-time Central Tech classes, evening welding, and EMT.

“Does the cost include books and supplies?”The class cost represented in this catalog covers tuition. Books and supplies are additional costs to be covered by the student.

“How can I pay for the class?”Course fees may be paid by cash, credit card or check. Payment plans are an option on a case-by-case basis.

“Who can apply?”Anyone age 16 or older may enroll in a short-term class. Certain restrictions may apply.

“When should I enroll?”Enrollment is first-come, first-serve. Seating is limited. It is recommended that you enroll early. Your enrollment in the course is not reserved until you provide a $25 deposit. Some classes may require a higher deposit.

“Is there a refund policy?”If a class is canceled by Central Tech, you will receive a full refund. Students requesting a refund prior to the 2nd class meeting will receive a refund, less a $10 processing fee. After the 2nd class meeting, there is no refund available.
